I have been reading Anandtech for over a decade now. Networking and Storage are what I like most, Two things that are not covered often.

I'm not really a turtle, but Ted looks better than me, so he gets the avatar.

Built my first PC in 2011 and really enjoyed it, mostly the fact that it actually WORKED when it was done. Since then I've built 4 more and upgraded them and others umpteen times, sometimes just for fun. Mostly a hardware guy, software and programming make my brains leak out my ears, so the coup de grace would be a groovy AT screwdriver to wield like a broadsword in the face of PC upgrades.

Other active interests include firearms and reloading, motorcycles (both dirt and street, ) Martial Arts (TaeKwon-Do, ) and outdoors (hiking, rappelling, caving, drinking beer around a campfire.) Also have a general interest in aviation and automotive, skydiving, and, of course, turtles! (We have 2)

Honorably discharged from the US Army in 1989, spent 3 years at Fort Carson, CO.

Hi - I'm Brandon, and live in the same neck of the woods as Anand (his town was just voted the #1 town to live in in the US).

I'm the techie at my office, even though I work in finance. I will admit I am more of a reader than a forum guy (referring to the original post). A lot of the information on the front page is what I use to build my desktops (debating whether to update my i5-2500k with Skylake or not - I'm not a gamer). For notebooks, I only buy ThinkPads (I have 3 of them at home, plus a Yoga to play with).

I'm a software enginerd specializing in human factors engineering, configuration management, controlled vocabulary, network-based deployment. On servers, I use FreeBSD, OpenSUSE, and Debian. Desktop is Mac OS X on an old MacBook Pro. Built a Hackintosh for video editing with my son. Performance is amazing, reliability after an OS X update is, well, I wouldn't use it in production.

This post ruined my 100% reader-only status.

"IT guy" 8h/day here, PC enthusiast the rest.

Glad to see these kind of giveaways from AnandTech are eligible for non-US residents.

More of a reader/listener than a poster/talker. I found AnandTech during the days I was supporting Netware 6.0 servers. Still mad at Novell for dropping a great NOS! Now spend my days supporting cable modems for a living, and am just as much a cruffler and a gearhead as a techie. Keep my toes in the waters, 'cause you never know what may come along!

Hey, those multi screwdrivers are handy, and I love swag!

Hello, my name is Dale but my username is usually srkelley/srkelley5. I normally just comment on articles, I forget that this place even has forums.

I'm working a tier 3 helpdesk role now, I've worked many lower level helpdesk roles and as deskside support. I build myself a new pc every few years, I like reading about parts and performance here. Even for stuff I'd never buy, the best breakdowns for hardware (as well as good presentation) and testing usually comes from Anandtech.

My specialty is getting hardware that meets the needs for myself and other people. Whether it's prepackaged or I gotta build it myself, I will make find what will meet your needs for the lowest price that I can possibly find it. (No, not pimping a service or store. I mainly just deal with myself, family and friends.)

Hello fellow ATers!

I'm a long time lurker as well (16-17yrs I think). I'm also the family (and extended family) IT HelpDesk Agent as well as system builder. Long appreciated the LF reviews and the dialogue of all the readers.

Hello all. I follow technology and computer hardware news as a hobby and I am my family's go-to guy for everything technology related. I have build four computers since I started making my own five years ago: two for myself (an old one and an upgrade one), one for my parents and one HTPC. People on this forum have been instrumental in making this possible, so thank you!
