I've been hanging around the forum since 2001 and the site since the start. I build computers and systems for friends and people that needs them. MY first GPU was 3dFX and then Riva TNT, after that I got the mighty Geforce 2. The rest is history.

Hi, guys!

Nice to meet you all. I saved up in the army the year before and bought my first computer in 1997, having moved to Oslo to become a student.

I began reading Anandtech in 1998, and if I had internet access, I have visited every day for 18 years. It has become my nr 1 source for tech info and reviews. I especially liked the games and programs they used for testing; thorough and relevant.

I do feel somewhat guilty for not joining the forum sooner, knowing I have experience with a lot of issues I have worked through, doing countless hours of searching, reading, trying, and never giving up, but I could have shared more and helped out more often.

In 1999 I built my first computer out of parts I bought. The case producer was a genius, sending me a tool-kit with a screwdriver and screws. I had this for years.

The screwdriver stayed with me for all those upgrades, and buy and sales of parts I executed in the years to come. All those nights, the flashlight batteries to see what the heck I was doing, the battles of screws underneath the motherboard, the cables not being long enough, the fans hitting some cable making noise. It was all worth it.
My companion screwdriver had a magnetic tip. Had. It was its weak point. So useful, but now it's worn out. If you think I deserve an Anandtech screwdriver for the years to come, I would be very grateful.

I may be a junior member, but I am hoping to contribute and earn the progress.

Good day to you all.

Hey! Long-time lurker since 1999! (eventhough my current account isnt old, my first account got lost somehow)

I think I've read every anand CPU and GPU review since the era of Pentium III and Voodoo 3, and all the good stuff from that very exciting point in history of 3D graphics.

Nice screwdriver.

I have built my own custom water-cooled gaming rigs twice now.

Once I get some more money in a couple years, I'll probably even build another one.

I love building things but never have enough time and money for my hobby. I am a white guy that was born in Morocco, Africa in 1957 near Casa Blanca.
I was in the Army for about 10 years and then went back to school studying Computer Information Systems around 40. I started in Mainframes with COBOL. Currently scan documents for a community college.

I have worked at a few different areas:
Koradco Scovil Wood Window factory machine operator
U.S. Army (Trained Killer/clerk)
Olin Works Brass Mill Fork truck & machine operator
Winchester Western Small arms ammo plant Fork Truck & Janitor

None of these things are very related.

First Computer: Tandy 1000A

Computers are like a Hobby that pays me money.

Hi I like free stuff. A branded screwdriver is better than unbranded and I can use it to assemble my home server once I decide what I want to build.

Current software and hardware engineer.
Works in chip testing equipment manufacturer, allowing for great view of what is coming in the industry

No access to my computers for the moment, so limited to laptops.
Anandtech has been my main site for tech news for a long while. First time on the forums.

Hi all! I'm a Data Scientist at a small company in Europe. Which means I dabble in development more often than not. I also like to fix overheating laptops to help the environment and my friends' wallets.

Anandtech and Ars Technica are the two tech sites I like the most, closely followed by Notebookcheck because of their detailed measurements (but the writing quality is sub-par).

Having a screwdriver like this would be the envy of all my co-workers, all of which read Anandtech too. So please help me get my ego boost! Thanks!

Hi, I'm Nate.

I work in video production and enjoy playing with tech. I got into building PC's a decade ago.

Hi, I'm Scott. Been around for a while, went dormant, but still like to lurk. I came for the HotDeals forums back in the day when I found a Sirius kit for dirt cheap.

NOTE: I'm not black, the avatar is Cowboy Curtis.

Hello,

I'm a regular around every portion of this site. I do a fair amount of build recommendations for folks along with answering questions on network design, implementation and troubleshooting along with general PC troubleshooting. I write reviews for another site and run several private and public servers. I do logistics work for a large media company (not to be named) as my regular job. Have been around the forums for quite a while as you can see from my join date and I've been into PCs for even longer, my first PC was an old school Apple II.

Hi everyone! I usually don't visit the AnandTech forum. I get most of my tech news from the main AnandTech website.

been browsing on and off since the site launched c. 1997. after a hiatus of a few years, i've come back in the last few years, initially because of the SSD coverage, but now it's my go-to site for pretty much everything hardware-related.

on another note, the forum site really should be served over SSL.
