I don't think its people "with money" like you think, but rather this new investor class that got started during the pandemic (and fluffed GameStop and AMC, then crypto). These people are desperate for the next get rich scheme.

The problem is, he's trying to play stupid about things he's previously tried gloating about, apparently there's multiple witnesses contradicting him on things he's claiming to be ignorant about, he's trying to throw his lawyers under the bus (claiming they misled him, when I have a hunch they probably have some records proving the opposite), and his ego won't let him not try and act like he's the smartest person in the room.

And considering this is probably more similar to Scientology than other ones, crypto will stick around, if for no other reason than the weird intense focus some people have for certain things.
