Upgrade the attack boat with 30mm cannon, TV missile, maintenance and active radar jammer. Most over powered beast on Paracel. They will nerf that thing for sure. I've gone 60 - 2 type scores regularly with it. On top of that you have three guys in the back, one with the mounted rocket launcher and two on the chain guns. They are also repairing the boat.

Thing is a rape machine.

Game seems great, the maps are all awesome thus far. Not sure about that Russian winter map in an old prison or military barracks. Seemed absurdly chokepoint oriented but I didn't see much of the map...

Couple server crashes but overall the game runs silky smooth on Ultra 2xAA.

I'm getting some rubber banding on some servers but I'm having a blast so far.

Downloading right now. Really excited to play BF again. Think the last time I logged in was BF2:BC a few years ago.

Anyone notice the striking differences between using the 32bit exe and the 64bit exe? Aside from the 32bit exe locking out graphics adjustments (you can edit the ini to enable ultra) you lose a lot of extra visuals.

For example...I ran both the 32bit and 64bit exe using the following settings and at the point you exit the school on the first campaign mission and step outside you are greeted to this.

Settings

32bit exe

64bit exe

alright so the crashing has died down a bit. It still happens but at least not literally every game.

Still getting horrible game-breaking stuttering. Been screwing around with drivers and graphics settings for 2hrs now. Infuriating.

Oh and has anyone noticed that reloading now uses up a whole clip? This is really f'ing me up. Over 15 years of FPS gaming and it's just muscle memory to reload after I fire. I need to retrain myself I guess

How are people playing it right now? See alot of streamers on Twitch steaming BF4. Is there some way to play it early or something?

Anyone seeing lag (rubberbanding) on the majority of server?...Can't even shooting or flying right.

The lag has been bad for the last few hours. Its fine then all of a sudden the server goes to crap.

That's what I asked about earlier. I wanted to know whether there was any performance differences between the 32 and 64 bit binary.

BF4 being a native 64 bit game should have tangible benefits from running in 64 bit mode, but I wasn't expecting visual differences.

I guess it makes sense though, as with increased memory address space, you can pack more detail into the maps.

It's almost like they disable cloth physics or something. Dunno why they would lock out graphics options and default everything to low though.

How are you playing the game already? Can you tell me?

I think the game is already released in North America, and other parts of the world. It releases in the E.U on the 31st.

You can probably use a VPN to unlock ot early though.

I started playing last night. It was unlocked for the US and Asia on the 28th. I think on the previous page someone posted the release dates for the different regions. Where do you live?

I live in the UK. Do you think using a US VPN will work?

Is anyone getting a warning message when launching the game about outdated AMD drivers?

The message says I have 13.4 installed and that at least 13.9 is recommended, but I already have the 13.11 beta 6 drivers installed. (or at least I think so, anyway)

I'm afraid to even buy this game as my system is kinda weak. 2600k at 4.0ghz and a 7850 at 1000mhz. What settings/fps am I looking at?

You're looking at 1080p/High, 50fps. My 7870 at 1000/1200 hit 58fps:

1080p/high:
Min Max Avg
50 74 58.333

My OC'd 670 did the following at the same settings, BTW:
65 166 83.4

On a related note, I'm wondering if SLI might have some more potential than it's getting. My 670 hits this at 1440p/Ultra:
33 56 41.783

It sounds like the guys running 670/680SLI got around 55fps at the same settings. I would think it should be closer to 70fps.
