Agree.

Im a team player and cap flags with a vengeance and will kill all that I can (vehicles, equipment, players) during the process . Shooting, killing, and holding objectives is the whole point of the game. I dont care if there is no KDR tally at the end, Im still going to do my best to kill and maim as many enemies as I possibly can. He cant hurt me or cap my territory while he's dead and respawning.

Agreed. I'm a ground pounder, and I go like a terminator to take flags, hold flags, and re-take flags. I could care less about KDR. Here's a typical full round of that action :

One round, 5 flag attacker ribbons (each representing 4 flag caps)

http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/battlereport/show/1/61694021/365891337/

Haha, a lot of my deaths in that were during maniacal rushes with the torch to take out vehicles (I carry the SAM instead of RPG, so it's my only way of taking enemy vehicles out if my tank gets busted). I did successfully torch my first enemy heli during that round, guy was sitting doing that TV missile BS, and I scooted up behind him in a jeep, ran up, and flamed him. Luckily he was noobtastic enough to think it was a good idea to do it hopping up so close to the ground.

Just says you sit in tanks all the time and do care about your KDR, you have 8000 tank kills and hardly anything with your weapons after almost 400 hours. I bet you also just drive around using that cheesy proxy scan on the tank too.

It's the most helpful thing I can do for my team on big CQ maps, so I do it. Provide cover, bust enemy vehicles, cap flags, defend flags. KDR is meaningless, helping your team control the flags is #1. Look at my flag ribbons/medals Per hour, I have more than most players because I know that flags are life for the team.

I want a cross platform multiplayer game mode so that the entire gaming world can see how leet us PC gamers are. Imagine how funny it would be? By the time a console gamer is able to turn around 180deg, a PC gamer could kill 3 people in different directions and almost be done reloading. Sadly, it will never, ever happen.

Sure there is a reason. MS and Sony know you want to play with your friends and if your friends have the game on Xbox / PS, they want you to also buy it on Xbox / PS, not have you able to buy it on the competing system and still interact with your friends.

As far as PC / Xbox crossplatform, MS already did this with Shadowrun and it was the PC gamers who were crying because Xbox had small amounts of auto aim and the PC has none.

Fudzilla - Expect BF4 news at Xbox event (today!)

Tuesday, 21 May 2013 07:54

Written by David Stellmack

DICE confirms upcoming announcement

DICE has confirmed by way of its Twitter feed that a big announcement regarding Battlefield 4 is upcoming soon. Sources tell us that “soon” means today during the Xbox event.
What the big announcement could be is anyone’s guess at this point, although our sources seem to think that it could be something from a simple look at the new multiplayer in Battlefield 4 to a big announcement of exclusive content for the new Xbox.

We will have only a few more hours to wait to see what the “big” announcement is, but let’s hope that it is something more than just a little something.

PCMag.com - Watch Live: Microsoft's Xbox Reveal Event

By Chloe Albanesius May 21, 2013 12:00pm EST

Microsoft today is set to unveil its next-gen Xbox, rumored to be called the Xbox 720. The software giant will host an event at its Redmond headquarters, which kicks off at 1 p.m. Eastern.
The company will live-stream the event via Xbox.com, and has provided the embed code to PCMag, which will go live at 1 p.m., so refresh this page then for the video. We will also provide commentary via our @PCMagLive Twitter feed (embedded below), so follow along there if you don't have access to the live feed.
Microsoft tipped today's Xbox event in late April, which it said will "mark the beginning of a new generation of games, TV and entertainment." It will also host an event at the E3 gaming conference on June 10, where it promised to "showcase our full lineup of blockbuster games." Since then, the rumors have been fast and furious about the console: from suggestions that Xbox 720 chips are already in production as well as tight integration with Kinect to the possible lack of Blu-ray.
Be here at 1 p.m. for all the details. Until then, check out PCMag's Xbox wish list.

...and it's a bust. No sign of Battlefield 4. Call of Duty Ghosts with it's new engine is nipping at it's heels, though.

This looks like my dog (minus the cuts).

http://battlefieldinformer.com/f162/battlefield-4-official-release-date-confirmed-2052/

BF4 is out October 29th. This was leaked a while ago though via a mistake on a page at the xbox live site.

Dice has confirmed BF4 has not been announced for next gen platforms via their Twitter. We are not sure when, exactly, what is coming out. Possibly the Xbox 360 / PS3 version is coming out, but since the next gen consoles are not releasing until a month after, they won't be releasing the next gen (and possibly the PC) version until a later date.

trydling 5 hours ago

Battlefield 4 will be available 10/29/2013 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Driving the next-gen experience is Frostbite 3, the only game engine that brings you a true next-generation experience.

Players will fight for dominance across the vast and majestic Chinese mainland in four massive maps, using all-new vehicles and high-tech military equipment.

Furthermore, players that pre-order Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe, available exclusively on Origin, will also secure their access to the exclusive Battlefield 4 multiplayer beta.

DICE will be revealing even more information about Battlefield 4 at E3 2013 with a live multiplayer demo at 1 PM PDT on Monday, June 10.

As always, stay tuned for more information!

ea.com - THE WAIT IS OVER – NEW HARDWARE, NEW DEVELOPMENT ENGINES AND STUNNING NEW GAMES

POSTED BY Frank Gibeau ON MAY 21, 2013

This is a big day – the first time in over a year that an EA developer can answer a question without starting: Sorry, I’m under NDA and can’t provide any detail.

Today Microsoft has unveiled Xbox One and we can finally say: the next generation of hardware is incredible and the proof is in the details – the games and development engines that will breathe life into these systems.

OK, I am biased. I spend a lot of time on mobile, tablet and PC games, but I love the power and scope of big console games and it’s been eight years since we’ve had a new canvas to create on. Today, Microsoft’s press conference revealed what we’re so excited about. Finally, we can draw back the curtain and show you what we’ve been working on for Madden, FIFA, NBA LIVE, UFC, Battlefield, Need For Speed and other EA franchises.

In that broadcast, Andrew Wilson unveiled EA SPORTS IGNITE, a brand new game engine that powers our next-generation sports games. Ignite delivers a stunning array rendering capabilities, run-time physics, animation, intelligence, locomotion and integrated online systems. It will create sports experiences that are more authentic and deliver more emotion than ever before.

But the excitement isn’t limited to EA SPORTS. EA’s DICE Studio has introduced Frostbite 3, a game engine that will revolutionize experiences across a broad spectrum of platforms and genres. The astonishing power of Frostbite 3 was unveiled in March with this 17-minute gameplay video of Battlefield 4. That demo was actually showcasing the next generation of Battlefield, which will run on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC and will also be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Now that the Xbox One has been unveiled, there is so much more we want to show you – racing, RPGs and shooters that are going to astonish you with their graphic fidelity and connected features.

Our E3 briefing “The Download: EA 2013 Preview” will be a showcase of next-generation games like Battlefield 4, Need For Speed, a full range of EA SPORTS games and a first look at our plans for the Star Wars partnership with Disney. Tune in on Monday, June 10 at 1pm PT on Spike TV or at www.ea.com/e3 to experience it all. I’m eager to your reaction in the comments and the forums, Facebook and Twitter.

Today, you’ll hear a lot of superlatives about the new systems – all well-deserved. But what we showed today only skims the surface of a deep ocean of images and experiences. Now it’s up to us -- DICE, BioWare, Criterion, Visceral, EA SPORTS and others – to show you what the new consoles can do.

Battlefieldo - BF4 Multiplayer Live Demo to be Shown at E3

Discussion in 'News & Updates' started by Davekraft, Today at 4:28 PM.
As the dust settles on the Xbox One announcement earlier today, some of you may have missed the official announcements that have been made regarding Battlefield 4.

First of all, the release date has been confirmed as the 29th of October 2013. Second of all, there will be a live multiplayer demo of BF4 at E3 on Monday, June the 10th 1PM PDT.

Players who pre-order Battlefield 4 through Origin also receive the first DLC, 'China Rising', at no additional cost.

Check out the Battlelog post here, and also check out the 'China Rising' DLC post on BFO here if you missed it.

Yeah I saw they already announced an expansion pack...so obvious they make these expansions along with the base game and just separate them so they can make 2 sales.

The expansions for BF3 were very similar those for BF2, so Im guessing the same with BF4...

is there really going to be a difference between BF4 and BF3? Besides graphics?

Just because they have a name for it does not mean they are developed concurrently, or even by the same team. Just making extra maps doesn't require as large of a team or as much time. Splitting off some resources to work on the expansion close to when your game goes gold isn't unheard of.

I could be just touching up maps that weren't finished in time to make the deadline for the original name.
