I very much agree with both quotes. But IMHO this doesn't change the fact that the game absolutely needs to do a better job of team balancing so one team doesn't have 0% chance of winning, so very often. I'd rather deal with lag, crashes, etc. than this garbage that sucks all the fun out of playing.

I have played BF since 1942.

It has always been like that pretty much. Very rarely is it a pretty tight fight. Most of the team one team is just domination the other. I remember the times i would play with a bunch of friends or when the server i was on had all the clan members on we would wreck people.

Because we knew the game and play to its advantage. Sadly this days there always someone of jacking off (look at battle buddy videos on youtube) and not doing any objective work.

But yes, the game still needs lots of work. Like most big projects now days it take a while and lots of patching and balancing to iron everything out.

I am a bit disappointed, after being away from the PC gaming community for over 6 years or it has not gotten any better. I think part of the reason is that we have no one to speak for us. I mean the console guys have both MS and Sony to push developers on their products!
Who do we have? No one, maybe MS but i am sure they are more concerned with enterprise and xbox. D:

Might have to try that this weekend.
I have to say opening up all the tools I'm used to having has really improved my play. I like either fast weapons or slow with higher damage, I can manage recoil once I get used to it. My rounds went from 1:1/1:2 with the AK-12 to 1:1/2:1 with AEK. Lost 2% accuracy which is expected, K/min is about the same, but I'm just not dying as much so my ratio is much better.

Getting the loadouts I want open on the vehicles is helping a bunch too.

I also play pretty aggressive, maybe try camping some choke points for a bit to get your points up at first.

Game uninstalled, going back to windows 7 this weekend thank god. I feel stupid for pre-ordering the digital deluxe and premium for this game, even upgraded my video cards in anticipation. Barely got 20 hours out of it. Oh well, Battlefield is basically a dead series to me again unless they manage to re-write the netcode from scratch. I guess BF3 was just a lucky fluke for DICE.

I'm sad.

Just had a bunch of pixels die on my monitor out of the blue.

I didn't even ram my fist through this monitor like my last one. =(

I was testing some graphics settings, and found a cheap way to gain XP using boosters. Find an empty Obliteration server with no player limit. Apparently just flying in a helicopter gets you XP. I unlocked around 1 scout item per match and a half just flying from the bomb to the sites and back. Also got the Obliteration service star (10K points). With a 25% booster you get around 3200 points a game, at 5 min per game, plus any medals. Strangely, I lost -4 in skill on one of the games, and the server was empty! SPM also increases, as you get around 500, although in one case it was 2000. Don't know why, but free points is free points.

Odd, 4 feels much better than 3 for me. High pingers still have an advantage but with the lowering of suppression and bullet deviation I doubt that Ill ever play BF3 again. In 3 I preferred HC but now with the lower TTK im finding normal servers to be just fine.

I just wish DICE would remake Noshar Canals for BF4 so I could get my TDM kicks, Im not liking any of the new maps for that mode. Domination is my new go to mode for quick kills to unlock guns.

Lowering of suppression? Suppression is like three times worse in BF4 than BF3. In BF3 suppression made your gun max deviation but it was still possible to hit people at close range. In BF4 if anyone is shooting in your general direction your bullets fire up into the sky or down into the ground while the screen shakes and blurs all over the place.

Suppression wouldn't be such a bad thing if it wasn't for the horrible netcode where you get suppressed before you even see the guy shooting at you.

Although I'm enjoying the game, to me it feels as if bullet deviation is more noticeable in BF4 than BF4, whether suppressed or not.* In BF3 I had relatively little problem popping head-glitchers but I'm finding it much harder to do in BF4 because the deviation on the shots makes bullets hit cover. I'm almost tempted to switch to single-shot because I'm tired of being penalized for something I can't control.

Although I like some of the gameplay additions and tweaks DICE made, if I had to choose I think I would go back to BF3. The shooting seems much looser/bouncey in BF4 compared to BF3. I haven't noticed anything too severe with the netcode but I suppose the worst part about netcode problems is that everyone becomes paranoid; you can never be sure whether the guy who just killed you outplayed you or benefitted from wonky netcode

Honestly, though, I'm not that upset by the netcode issue if only because I do think they'll fix it eventually. I just dislike the shooting mechanics but, then again, I thought BF3 had some of the best mechanics in a FPS.

*As an aside I do like the changes they made to suppression. Think it strikes a happy middle ground between the pro and anti-supression camps.

Ive seen nothing like that, for me its what you are saying only in reverse. I went back to BF3 a couple of times after the beta and would just rage quit because of the stupid suppression and bullets going everywhere except where I was aiming. The only time I feel suppressed in 4 is when under fire from a LMG or vehicles. Its actually pretty easy to snipe people even while under full auto fire from a distance.

I dont think the "I got killed 2 seconds after going behind cover by a guy with 100ms higher ping" problem will ever be fixed. I think its a Euro conspiracy to pwn US players, they consider this a feature not a bug.

LOL try firing a grenade launcher or XM25 while suppressed. You have a high probability of suiciding due to the round firing into your feet while pointed downrange. You are correct though that suppression only comes from LMG's, probably because LMG's are the only guns so inaccurate to not instantly kill you before you realize you are under fire to begin with. But the thing is with BF3 you knew you were getting suppressed and that your shots would be inaccurate, it was a gameplay element you could count on. In BF4 it seems much more random, where a guy running around with an M249 (basically a full-auto M16 with 200 round mag) shoots 2 bullets in your general direction and your whole screen turns to mush.

Anyways my biggest gripe about BF4 is the constant spawning dead and insta-dying out of nowhere. But also little things like worse overall graphics in my opinion (especially soldier models), lack of footsteps, lack of sound locality, lack of damage indication, etc. I feel like I could play the game just as well muted as with the sound on, a ginormous leap backwards from BF3. All these factors really take away from the ability to play skillfully. 50% of my deaths are spawning dead. 40% are dying to people behind walls, out of nowhere, etc. Only about 10% are due to firefights that I lose, and probably half of those 10% I kill the guy that killed me simultaneously.

This game is just aggravating to no end, I don't enjoy playing it at all. BF3 had a few frustrating moments but for the most part I felt in control. When I died in BF3 it was because I reloaded at a bad time, or got flanked, or ran around a corner into someone waiting for me, etc. Not so with BF4, I feel helpless constantly. When I die in BF4, it's from a guy that spawned directly behind me and I didn't hear. Or a guy behind a wall that I didn't see peak out until after I was dead, etc.

I'm really liking the Ace-23 (the assault one). I just unlocked it yesterday but it just seems to work for me. At anything less than long range it just melts people.

Why would you uninstall a game when even the first patch has not been released? Especially since netcode is mentioned as being part of the fixes.

Hell they are even fixing sound issues that mess up gameplay experience.

Anyways, My EVGA superclocked GTX 780 Ti comes Monday. weee!

Well if they patch it and fix the netcode I'll reinstall it of course. But I'm sick of windows 8 and want to go back to 7 anyways lol.

As I've said in other forums as well, guys, it's a NEW GAME....

I'm struggling right now also. When I maxed out on BF3, my ending K/D ratio was 1.51. My K/D in BF4 so far is 'negative'. I am right at this moment about to install my new monitor, the Eizo FG2421, which should help a bit in-game, compared to my IPS Dell.

I think it will take another month before BF4 runs very well for the vast majority of users.
