I haven't had any chugging/stuttering issues like this. Can you try disabling Origin in-game overlay and see if that helps?

I still get crashes unfortunately. Either the game freezes with audio stuttering, or bf4.exe crashes with msvc10.dll error.

You should be able to get rid of the msvc10.dll crash by reinstalling the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Packages (both X86 and 64bit).

I fired up BF3 again a few minutes ago and it had zero problems. Ditto Cod4 lol, though that's older than my balls

Combo of my internet + BF4 makes it basically unplayable.

How about setting network smoothing slider to 0?

When running BF4 did you have perfoverlay.drawfps 1 and perfoverlay.drawgraph 1? If so and you were still getting good FPS and the graph didn't have a bunch of spikes you can know it's due to the network connection. Have you tried updating the network driver, and motherboard driver?

Network connection wouldn't affect FPS though, even though it may "feel" like it does.

Wasn't there a problem with Nvidia Shadowplay? Do you have that installed/running Arkaign?

The Shadowplay issue is mainly when you run two or more monitors. Arkaign, what does your ingame performance (perfoverlay.drawgraph 1 ) graph look like? Also, use something like EVGA's Precision and look at GPU usage. If its not in the 90% range the game will feel like crap. I will be installing my second 680 today, so I'll see if there are any SLi gotchas, but I dont think anyone else doing BF4 + SLi reported any issues.

Adjusts player animations at the expense of latency. The higher it is, the smoother the animations will be, but hit detection is worse.

I had a hard time getting any kills in this game. The assault has a pretty nice default weapon and I think it even came with a RDS but everyone else has pretty bad weapons (the sniper rife is pretty good) and on top of that, you have to get 15+ kills to get RDS (I can't kills for shit with some of the iorn sights).

You have to get 10 kills for a RDS.

That's always the way it is for me in new FPS games... for the first 2 weeks I strongly dislike the game... but you just hang in there... like everything else... keep on grinding.

Because it's an unfair advantage to people who have money. They do it later on since most people have been playing already and it allows newbies to catch up

Tried that, also closing all web browsers, no AV, disabling unneeded services, for the most barebones situation possible. Bah. I'm not sure what would be worse, being able to play it effectively until you crash, or being able to play it, but feel like you've got massive seizures while you're playing.

Hows it going buddy? Just thought i'd share my experience with BF4 running like crap on my similar system to yours. I never expected it to matter, but I installed windows 8.1 and I was floored at how much better it ran compared to windows 7. A friend of mine also installed windows 8.1 and got a similar massive increase not only in FPS, but we have no chugging and stuttering any more.
Are you on windows 7?
Also, is your FPS really high but you feel laggy anyway? Some servers make gameplay jerky with constant rubber banding and its hard to play. Its getting better now though, and if you are having major performance issues I would suspect windows 7 causing it if you are using it.

EDIT: I have a specific test that you can do to verify if windows 7 is your issue. The game is not optimized on windows 7, and when looking at certain buildings on certain maps, when you pan around or look up and down, the motion is very choppy and stutters when looking at that specific building. Windows 8 cures this. I'll shut up though until you say what OS you are using. Its the main building on hainan resort. Get near it and look up and down while facing it. Does it stutter?

I finally gave Commander mode a try today. I didn't have a clue, but I managed to pull in around 6000 points on a team that got their butts whooped.

I dont think there should be any unlocking of anything. I hate this part of BF. I dont settle in and have fun until I can evaluate the weapons. Its such a waste of time, because I can usually tell right away I'm not going to use the gun, but I know from watching some gameplay videos there are guns down the line that I might like. At least the starting weapons are all serviceable, once you get a grip and sight you like.

If I was in your place I would just play TDM or DOM. Just stay in confined areas and just unload when you see someone. You will get the kills you need.

And there's so much stuff to unlock... Not only do you need scores in a weapon category to get new weapons, but you need kills with a new gun to unlock attachments. Jesus.

I liked BC2's perk system the best so far, but that is the earliest Battlefield I have played.

Yep, FPS out the wazoo, but laggy to hell and back.

Tried both the onboard RealTek Gigabit and PCI Express Intel Gigabit, with Windows 7 built in drivers and the latest from the mfg, no dice.

Will check it out. Win7 Pro SP1 X64. It's maddening because everything else flies like bananas.

BF4 runs like silk on ultra for me using Win7 x64. The beta on the other hand was absolutely awful, super choppy and just random hitching.

I haven't had many issues the last several nights. Tonight, the server tried to autobalance teams and I locked up. Hopefully most of these issues are fixed by the time that China Rising comes out!

The game does run better on Windows 8.1 but it still doesnt solve the crashes and adds another problem if you're running an AMD 5xxx or 6xxx series. (Memory usage)

What drivers are you using and does it stay like that after 3-5 rounds? That's when it stops releasing memory and gets stuck at 98% ram usage for me.
