UPDATE #8 (Nov 12):
Client patch (PC)
The PC client patch for Battlefield 4 will go live in the near future and fixes a number of different issues you have helped us to identify, including a number of the most common crashes and freezes. We will get back to you with a full fix list and a specific date for this update soon.
Maintenance downtime (All platforms)
Nov 13, we have a planned maintenance starting at 9AM UTC/1AM PST. The maintenance will last for 2-3 hours and multiplayer for Battlefield 4 will be unavailable on all platforms in increments during this window. This maintenance is done in preparation for the upcoming client patches.
Console Server Update (PS3/X360)
During the Nov 13 maintenance window mentioned above, we will roll out the latest server update for X360 and PS3. This server update will include the following fixes:
• Temporarily disabled the ”Indirect Fire” and ”Perimeter Defense” Field Upgrades on PS3 as they caused the game to crash when spawning. This is a temporary workaround while we work to solve the issue altogether.
• Fixed a number of dog tags that were showing up as blank in-game.
• Lowered the damage caused by Mobile AA Active Radar missiles to aircraft. The previous damage was incorrectly set too high.
• Improved server crash reporting and performance tracking on all platforms. This should further help us identify and fix server crashes going forward.
Upcoming console client patches (PS3/X360)
We are testing and finalizing upcoming client patches for PS3 and X360. We will be able to give you an ETA on these at a later date. You can always find the latest info in this thread.
Upcoming Live Scoreboard (PC)
We will introduce Live Scoreboards in the PC server browser on Battlelog in the upcoming days. It will let you see the current status in the ongoing round on a server before you join, such as the number of remaining targets in a round of Obliteration. We will be able to give you specific date on this feature soon.
UPDATE #7 (Nov 12):
Server Update R8 rolling out on PC
We recently deployed the R8 Server Update on PC. It should be propagating throughout servers in the upcoming hours. You can find the change notes below.
R8 Update Notes:
*Fixed a number of dog tags that were showing up as blank in-game.
*Lowered the damage caused by Mobile AA Active Radar missiles to aircraft. The previous damage was incorrectly set too high.
*Improved server crash reporting and performance tracking on all platforms. This should further help us identify and fix server crashes going forward.
Epic fail! Whats wrong with you????Didn't go to work yesterday, and didn't play a single BF game. =( I feel like I've wasted my sick time.
I haven't unlocked the ACE 23 yet, but the ACE 52 is my favorite Carbine. I really was hoping the M4 would be the M4A1 and fully auto, but it isn't...
Currently working on getting the Shorty 12 gauge though. Almost there! Making fun of people not using a pistol on servers never gets old.
Yes I am trying to grind the handguns as well it's not easy! They seem to take as many points as regular weapons but since you dont end up using pistols so much it makes it a lot slower.
I found that being on a 24/7 TDM Lockers server like the Chicago Supermax one is great. Someone also mentioned a server called D1mension or something which has rules for handguns only - I dont know how they do it if it is a server option or if there is admin to enforce the rule but it sounds like it will be great when it comes up.

Yeah, unlocking things for my P226 definitely tanked my KDR. And now I want to get the G18, 1911, and the 45-C (57K points, really DICE? Really?).
I just unlocked the ACE 23 as well, only used it one round but it seems pretty solid. I did the single player just for the M249. Accurate, fast, and 200 rounds... YES PLEASE!The latest weapons Ive unlocked are now my new favorites so far.
ACE 23 - very controllable and accurate full auto fire AR
ACE 52 CQB - high damage Carbine with nice range
M249 SAW - the only decently accurate LMG ive tried thus far, made playing through the single player campaign almost worthwhile LOL
Hung up on the M40 sniper and haven't tried any of my latest unlocks there, and haven't tried any of the PDW's or shotguns yet.
I'm getting my engineering unlocks with shotgun, they are OP. I'll have to try the ACE 52 later.
I was wondering who you were...
Had a blast last night with you guys. Little Jay pwnage!!!!!

Its funny but you, Chocula, McLovin and I were in the same squad, and it wasn't till much later that I realized you guys didnt know you were fellow ATers.
I'm talking about total system usage with bf4 running.
