I'm really good so naturally I complain like a small child whenever I die. Been playing with child's quite a bit late at night.

lol I've never seen anyone complain when they are going like 30-5. Its funny watching the other team respond, especially when its the guy who is 5-13.

i remember seeing how in the beta but cant find it now

when you in game press ESC and you should see the option to use boost on the right bottom corner

GG Zargon. I didn't bail on you, bf4 bailed on me :/ I got some directx error. First time for that. Now I can't start up bf4 without it crashing.

If you click on it, a pulldown (or pull up in this case) should show you the available boosts. Then you click on one. They dont expire unless you use it, and they last 1 hour of actual game time.

I have fun online, but typically try to stick in a vehicle so I can last longer than 20 seconds.

One of the very few things I know is when looking thru the sites of my weapon, if an enemy is in range, press 'Q' to let others know.

I'm up to level 6, and don't know if my weapon has been upgraded or what I should pick.

I want to learn how to press the key that says, "Hay, I need a ride."

Overview that's more in-depth than the loading-screen overview for the various gamemodes.

There are many good videos on YouTube showing the basics of the different gameplay modes.

A couple of quick hints:

The person in your squad with a star next to his name is the squad leader. He will hopefully call out objectives for you to capture(marked by 4 arrow shaped symbols around the point). Your squad will get extra "squad points" for doing what the squad leader calls out. In most squads, it's best to look at what classes the other squad members are using and try to pick something different. i.e. if everyone in your squad is using the assult class, chances are good that you will run out of ammo at some point. So why not come in as support and drop ammo for them? Another example would be if you spawn on your squadmate who is driving a vehicle. Come in as an Engineer and repair the vehicle when needed. These things only work if you don't have a bunch of "lone wolf" squadmates, but you will be rewarded greatly with extra squad bonus xp if you work together.

You can call out for more ammo, rides and objectives(if you are the squad leader) by holding the "spot" key and hovering your mouse over whatever you are looking to do.

I'm definitely not the best player, but feel free to add me if you want. I'm always looking for people who like to actually squad up and play together.

Aw crap - I've noticed that next to my name in a couple of games... I thought I was being called out because I was currently 2-14. The game seriously needs to improve who it picks as squad leader. Is it possible to pass the position on to another player?

Does anyone know what the heck the icon that displays two chevrons, or one with a tilde-looking character under it, represents on the multiplayer server browser? It's the column to the left of the Ping column. They should put tooltips on that kinda shit.

After 2 weeks, game crashed much less and I've encountered much less rubberbanding! Much more enjoyable now. Still a bunch of annoying bugs, but much more tolerable.

Just curious, what do most of you guys have your minimap zoomed at? I find the closest zoom, 50mm, works best for me.

I'm also really digging the leaderboard system. Fun metagame to compete with your friends on. I'm currently ranked 22 in Colorado of 2987 players in the Road King leaderboard! Woo!

Just got done with about an hour and a half of BF4. Still haven't had a crash since I bought the game last week, and I think my last game I just played was the only one I had a > 1.0 K-D ratio, lol. God I'm horrible at this game, but it is fun.

I have it unlocked, but didn't try it out yet. I am a guy who miserably fails at controlling vertical recoil, which is probably what's been keeping me from experimenting with it.
I've unlocked AUG A3 recently and love it. It might not be the best AR out there, but it feels very accurate. I slapped angled grip on it, and now there's virtually no initial kick. Now if only I could get kobra sights...

I'm a big fan of the SAR-21 as well. Recently unlocked the FAMAS though so my KDR will drop while I figure out the gun and the iron sights

No really, still lots of crashing going on.

Just my own experience but I started crashing every game I joined in the last two days until I did the following after which I was able to play several rounds with no crashing:
-Exit Steam
-Turn off 'Occlusion'
-Turn off AA

I don't know why that worked because I haven't made any changes in days and wasn't having nearly the crashing issue but we'll see how it goes...

I don't know what it is but the in game VOIP is so quiet for me. I turned up the VOIP volume all the way and mute sounds on voip is on but I can barely hear you or Childs (or anyone else) if I'm doing something other than standing around doing nothing in a quiet place.
