I dont really care about the ranks but the boosts are nice to help get weapons and the vehicle perks unlocked much quicker. Im definitely not a fan of the grinding. Ive been working on getting the straight pull bolt for all the sniper rifles the last day or so, but boosts dont help when it requires a certain amount of kills. UGH!!It's weird that people give a crap about [largely] meaningless points and levels in an FPS lol. I don't like crashing of course, but really only because it breaks my groove and can change my squad/team
I have more trouble simply connecting to some servers than I do with crashing at least.
Someone has got to be working on a spoof to get the commander app installed on an Android phone instead of tablet.

I think I eventually ended up with at least 500 kills with every weapon in BF3 except some of the pistols and launchers. Im not going through all that again for a lousy dogtag. LOLYeah I really hate grinding out for an unlock. Especially with all the ones for each weapon. I doubt I'll unlock have the crap in this game. I think there's still a lot of unlocks to be had in my BF3 game was well..

It was funny last night when we were trading ridiculous kills on each other last might. Sometimes you just look at the kill screen and wonder how the hell the game awarded a kill based on your attackers location.

FOV effects Draw Distance
This is interesting. I noticed items disappearing on the test range, but I assumed it was a bug with the items on the test range since there is nothing to configure for draw distance. Changing terrain detail or geometry didnt have any effect. My FOV in game is 90, but it seems 60 actually has the best draw distance. This might explain why sometimes I simply do not see enemies, and rockets dont hit targets. Maybe there is actually something in the way which isnt drawn on the screen.

I think this explains some of my crappy play. I can't hit anyone at range anymore, when in BF3 I could use an AR at 300m. In BF4, any more than 50m and I dont even bother. I use red dots, and apparently that causes the fov to increase even more which makes aiming even harder. So anyways, its something to consider if you are having problems with your aim. I'm going to experiment tonight.

Soldier loads and I probably take like 10 steps. Then screen goes black... that blinking dash in the upper right... then BF4 exits/closes.

I was at 100 before, put it at 60 and it felt like I was playing at 4:3... Didn't see quite the zoom difference as the pics I linked. I didn't think it was worth the horizontal loss so I changed it to 75-80ish. I'm happy there.Well, I think this explains most of my problems when aiming. I cranked up the FOV. Guess I'll set it to 60 to see if I play any better...
Its just bad in general. I haven't crashed tonight, but there was a server crash. Cost me my M98.
We had around 10 ATers on that WDA server.
lol Vulgar is quite the sneaky SOB! A few times I would kill someone and start my reload and out pops Vulgar to headshot me. Like he uses his teammates as bait. He's also really quick to get back into cover after killing someone. I wouldnt even see him on the kill cam if he wasn't highlighted orange. And its not even camping, because I'd die then spawn somewhere else to defend another flag, then out of nowhere...there is Vulgar. I usually just rush around, but after we had a bunch of encounters I thought twice about moving into a new area. Kept thinking "alright, where is that sneaky bastard now..." :biggrin:
It is just me or battlelog load stats and unlocks really slow today? Even battle reports come really late after the game had done (like 1 or 2 hrs late).
