"Maintaining the lock"
I think that is most people's problem. BF4's IGLA seems to require you hold the lock while BF3's were fire and forget.
"Maintaining the lock"same here, i'm loving the IGLA. not hard to keep the crosshair on the vehicle to maintain the lock. might take a few rockets to burn off their flares, but you'll get some kills.
Nice though that's different, I was talking about the on foot/ground vehicles scenario. Riding in a chopper keeps you closer to targets that would be out of range if you were on foot. A chopper with 2 engineers on board doing different things (1 repairing, the other engaging air targets) is almost as difficult to take down as a jet, even in mobile AA.
Anyone know if you can play as commander on a PC without having origin installed, sorta like the tablet version? I'm at my folks place for the holidays and only have my work laptop with me. Their connection is far to slow to download the game and the pings in the low 100's, but that should be more than enough to play as commander. Given that I'm trying to figure out a way to play. I do have a tablet with me but it's a non rooted kindle fire HD.

There are only two multiplayer unlocks from single player. The m249 saw and P90. They are only avaible after you complete the game. You can only get one each time you complete the final mission depending on a decision you make.
You can unlock weapons for SP, but they stay in SP. These are unlocked by picking them up off the ground.
There are 6 unlocks for multiplayer...
I see, you were talking about the rex and the knives. Well I have all 6 and in the case of the last three, the only ones I paid attention to, took a good hour before they showed up.

I have some old clips on the ground as well, but I have some pre holiday errands to run and dont have time to edit some edits and upload. Its not that hard, especially on paracel and golmund. The helis come to you, so just make sure you wait for them to pop their flares. Its not even so much as destroying, its just getting them out of your area. Its very rare that a pilot will pop flares and stay in the area. And sometimes when I am out of ammo I lock on anyways, just so they know someone in the area is targeting them.
Oh I believe you without clips. In my experience, locking on can deter air targets, choppers can be hit, sometimes even brought down but jets, while on foot are very hard to shoot down.
We have to because the airspace is so narrow, unlike BF3 where you could fly way out of bounds for foot soldiers. Even on the larger maps like Rogue transmission the airspace is very limited, Golmud Railway is the only one that gives you room to breathe. Dawnbreaker barely gives you enough room to even turn a jet. LOLIt's usually when the pilot is preoccupied with another jet. I always fire at jets to get them to use their flares, as it gives my teams pilots and advantage. I have taken down jets while in foot. I know for sure on parcel and dam, as they tend to fly directly over cap points.

I dont even normally record this stuff anymore because its so common. I would have had a Little Bird, Attack Heli and Jet in one minute if Raasco didnt finish off the attack heli. I usually get 4-5 aircraft a round when I use the stingers.
If the game crashes you don't get screwed out of the stats. Only if the server crashes, and they fixed most of that in the last big server patch. You have to wait until the server finishes it's round for the stats to show up.game has crashed on me a ton today

Man, it seems like it takes me forever to unlock guns. I want to play assault more but I don't really love the AK-12, so I keep going back to engineer. I do like the AK 5C but I'm hoping one of the other carbines is better, it would be nice to actually use one of the guns I unlock.

The ACW-R is the best gun in the game IMO. In this uber-hardcore game, ROF is life. ACW-R, AEK-9000, and CZ-3A1 are the best guns (haven't tried the FAMAS yet though).
IMO MTAR-21 is the best.
Also looks like you can see the current score for servers in battlelog now.
