Yeah I wish I could find a server with a mix between HC and normal. Spotting and the minimap I can do without but I like the compass and I think I prefer the normal health values over the HC reduction.

I never play "normal" mode. It's stupid you can show up on the mini-map and then have a big effing colored triangle over your head to really make sure people can kill you...

Painting targets, the 3D targeting triangle, is pretty lame when the triangle follows you. I can always tell when someone found me because I was target painted versus someone who's cautiously advancing somewhere. I'd much rather see something like a red triangle or triangles appearing over the spot where someone was standing when someone spots them rather than the triangle following them, in normal and hardcore, because most of recon's gadgets don't function properly without a mini map.

edit: HOWEVER, seeing a friendly's triangle above the head of an enemy THROUGH WALLS is the cause of about 1/4 of my deaths. What I mean is I'll find someone but I think they are friendly because a blue triangle is near above them and they turn and kill me. I wish they would do something about that.

I found hardcore to be the appropriate "feel" for how much damage someone should take before they die. Normal mode blows my mind with how much I have to shoot someone to kill them and it throws me off coming from hardcore.

I much prefer hardcore when it comes to leveling up my weapons and getting kills on them. I was working on my sniper rifles yesterday and found a bolt/knife only HC server, it was almost too easy.

Man once you play only hardcore for a long time, trying to play on a normal server is so bland.

The opposite is true also, one you get use to the normal mode, then hard-core sucks. I used to be HC only in BC2, but since BF3 HC does not have the appeal to me anymore because of the increase in damage model compare to BC2.

I'm loving the ACR with the silencer. I might have to start using it on all my guns. I like to push up, flank etc and them not being able to see me on the mini-map allows me to get so many more kills.

Wow this update destroyed the graphics. Lots of texture pop and flickering. All the grass is pretty much gone.

Using latest drivers, i tried both single card and crossfire and same problem. 290s.

I have a big issue with friendlies tags not showing up for a split second at close range, or not at all at longer ranges unless I hit Q. (And who has time to constantly spam Q???) Needless to say this has caused many unnecessary deaths for my team mates. I didnt have this problem in BF3 or BC2.

In BC2 I played HC only. I HATED normal mode.

In BF4, I have not made the switch to HC because of the lack of servers. There seems to be a lack of west coast servers in general, which sucks.

I also find this, and it usually only happens with squad leaders (with the stars next to the triangles). It has gotten so bad I usually wait a split second before firing to see if it is a friendly or not. They need to fix that...

Same here, flickering, missing ground textures, FPS dips (10-30's).

How can a patch make things worse, arent the developers worried about their jobs?

Hope they fix it soon, holding up on buying China Crisis expansion pack until they fix their shit.

I noticed that outside on Locker was completely messed up for me. All the ground textures are either missing or completely broken. How could that have been missed?

Just played again with xfire disable and the issue does not happen then.

I guess devs do not have multi gpu machines.

This sucks, the game played perfect for me up until the this last patch. Now, all textures are jacked up, but no fps loss at least.

I guess I am stuck till we get a new beta driver from AMD
