Beware of the man with one gun. As a sniper I try to lead people and shoot at chopper pilots etc. Making those hard shots happens more often if I stick with one gun, one scope configuration and get totally married to it.
For TDM, there are arguable better combos, such as faster cycling bolt guns etc, but I stick to the M98.
I chose it because it shoots flat enough for consistent 1000m+ shots and has a faster velocity and holds more rounds than the SRR.
I don't use range finders and I don't zero because that stuff takes too long to use for aggressive sniping and I do better with just aiming higher.
If you like sitting far away and just hunting people, the SRR shoots a little slower, but it shoots flatter. So for long distance camping the SRR should suit you well, but I have yet to find a distance too far to hit someone with the M98 and an 8x-14x scope setup.
M98 was a great all around sniper rifle in BF3 too, ahh the memories.
