I used the M9 for the longest time just because I had the hipfire @ 100. I've been using the 1911 lately, but I'm really leaning towards going back to the M9
What pistol are you guys using? Been doing some pistol servers for that phantom assignment but everything is so horrible inaccurate. I want a CS Deagle
Same here. I liked the 1911 in BF3 but it ain't all that so far in 4, though I haven't unlocked much for it. Damn...I bought BF3 when it came out and played some. Think I got to level 16 (M249 was my favorite gun ). I had lots of fun with the game for the time I played (under 3 months).
Now, BF4 looks awesome and fun and i'm really tempted to get back in multiplayer FPS...
Lots of folks in this thread are so negative about the game... I'm amazed.
It's by far the best 'shooter' I've ever played. I play 'multi' / Conquest / On the Golmud Railway map... love it.
I like this game, but for some reason that is one of my least favorite maps...
I like Golmud, but the aa is such a pain in the ass on that map (and I feel odd saying this since I often grab the aa myself). Someone who knows what they're doing in the aa can pretty much single handedly ensure their team's victory. I was playing yesterday and grabbed the aa at the start of a high ticket round. I was 37 - 0 when some German tard on my team flipped out that I was 'hogging' the aa for too long and just started ramming me with his tank. Before that started, the other team had given up flying. We were something like 1000 tickets ahead of the other team.
I loved it, but I also know what it feels like to be on the other side. I don't have a joystick and can't fly a plane - only fly helos - and that is basically a lost cause if a good aa is up.
The SR338 sucks! Should be in the DMR class instead of sniper rifles. Gotta go for headshots or else its a 2-3 hit kill even on HC.
Definitely, all of the bolt actions are 1 hit kills on HC, even if you just hit a toe.That's what I use as my main sniper rifle. It'd definitely not good for across the map shots but it works for most situations. Now thinking about it, I do have to make sure I aim for the head... maybe I should switch to something else..

The chevron would be fine if they didn't make the thing so damn fat.It's basically a DMR except that because it's Recon only you can get 6-40x scopes for it instead of being limited to the 4x on the DMRs.
I'll stick to the DMRs and the 3.4x chinese scope. I'm just constantly frustrated why DICE keeps putting in the chevron ACOG and not the horseshoe reticle one. I'll never understand how the chevron reticle is intuitive to anyone. It lacks so much precision and takes me too long to figure out what I'm looking at. I'll take a dot or a crosshair any day of the week.

Yah, I've noticed that. On more open maps if I get in the AA people tend to stop flying. The other night I was on firestorm and had the a-10 and apache try and coordinate an attack on me. They must have been in Vent. A10 comes in steep above with locks like a good pilot. I pop AP and scoot to try and evade the vulcan while I acquire him. Pop two AR at point blank as he's pulling out and turn follow with the cannon only to see the apache dip into my view close with cannons. Obviously he had tried a pass with hydras and hit my AP. Cannoned him down two. I think they gave up at that point. Oddly they never bothered to chase me down with a tank.
When not in the aa, my favorite thing to do is jump in a c4'd buggy and deliver it to the other team's aa, usually by shouting ALLAH AKBAR! at the last second. Trying to level up my support skills now so I can get c4 for the class. Otherwise it's one payload delivery with recon followed by a 'now what?'
