Played a little last night. Kicked ass. I love the way it feels. Very crisp and clean movement. They took the sluggishness out of the movement, but the aim delay is still there. Also, I haven't crashed so they definitely fixed some crash issues.

One thing I have found I need to be aware of is that without the visual recoil its easier to get stuck into the whole going full auto style of firing without realising the spread it causes. You still need to burst fire and tap fire at range, its just much easier to do it now without the side to side visual movement which messed up aim. For some reason the removal of the effect has been making me think I could full auto when I couldn't and missing a lot.

I'll try some traditional game play to see how the regular weapons handle. I only play on an all sniper server currently.

Hmm I wonder if something is messed up with my settings. All of you says the movement seems quicker, but I'm experiencing the exact opposite. It is painfully slow movement for me. I went and played a round of Bf3 and it was the exact opposite...Super fast.

I really cant tell any difference in speed, but movement does seem a bit smoother than before.

FoV got reset to default for me. Maybe check that as it would make a big difference in movement feel.

Yep, we have a winner! Thanks for the help. I wonder why they reset the FOV?
Yeah, same here. Also tweaked the rest of the UI per that video a few posts up, didn't go with those settings but it pointed out what I wanted to change.

I thought moving forward felt slightly slower. I know I adjusted the FoV before, unfortunately I have no idea what I set it to lol, so I'll have to fiddle around and see what feels right.

I set it to 70 horiz/vert (the second number listed), I believe that keeps the ratio correct, but I'll have to look i up later. I know they do some odd stuff with the math on that number.

Anyways, it looked close enough for the few minutes I played and it fixed that moving through mud feeling, as well as some of the bounciness. I just wasn't used to that FoV and it was screwing with my perception of everything.

I did know if this was covered in this topic so I wanted to post here if anyone is having this issue with Mantle.

update.

I may experienced memory leak and performance degradation in BF4 MP on a 64player Siege of Sanghai map 2500 tickets using Mantle. At some point the game started behaving strangely, unfortunately i didnt have fps and drawgraph enabled to see what was happening. Ill try again in the same map and see if it will happen again.

On large/long maps it's more noticeable as the leak creeps towards your RAM ceiling. You get lag, spikes and a out of memory error. I don't think the issue was fixed in the last BF4 patch nor 14.9 driver but I can't test it myself. I'm going off of what I've read on forums.

If you want to test it yourself, you can try Hardware Monitor. It's what I use for memory watching, however I have two monitors. I don't know of an overlay program that will let you watch your RAM in game.

On the BF4 side of things, the problem has been diagnosed unofficially. *"The fix is to go to the Battlefield 4 folder and locate a file called "WeaponChunks.sb" inside /Data/Win32/ folder and delete/rename/move it. "

That has worked for me, however, you do lose some of the audio from weapons. There haven't been any issues with gameplay by removing/renaming the file above. It will increase your FPS, smooth out your FPS and stop the memory leak.

Dare I say it? Classic mode is actually kinda fun. I've stopped playing BF4 for a while because I was frustrated that Dice refused to put in an actually fun game mode, but I've actually been enjoying classic and its higher requirement for team work.
I was just reading about classic mode here: http://blogs.battlefield.com/2014/1...-fb-prev-site-sust&cid=28639&ts=1412703525118

Sounds like the only differences between HC and Classic are that Classic retains the mini map and friendly fire is turned off. Why not just go balls out and play HC?

Classic also has the normal health model, which I like. TTK on HC is a little low for me. But I was on a classic mode server this weekend and quite enjoyed it.

IMO the only drawback to it is you can't spawn on your squadmates, only squad leader which I'm not real fond of. Otherwise I think it's a good balance between HC and Normal.

Oh yeah, I forgot about to mention the full health meter on classic. I can live without team kills, but spotting and full normal health are the two main reasons I hate playing on normal servers. Even though spotting is only on the mini map on classic it still drives me nuts, especially when a commander is constantly calling UAVs on the hot zones.....which is where Im gonna be.

Thing I'm not liking about Classic if even if you get the drop on people, they frequently can get behind cover, etc before you burn them down. I feel like I'm being denied my reward for successfully flanking. In HC if I get the drop on a squad I can always take one down before they react, and often I'll get two before they figure out where the fire is coming from.

Because minimap is a huge part of the game? Also TTK on hardcore is way too COD for me.

Also I like the increased teamwork aspect of the game on classic. Though classic should have FF on by default.

Either HC with minimap and a tad more health or Classic with a bit less health and FF. That'd be perfect for me.
