Sounds like your PTT key is bound to the same thing as either one of the chat inputs (which are like... JKL?) or the console (which is defaulted to Tilde I think). Basically just look through the controls/keybinds options of BF4 and unbind your PTT key from whatever BF4 is trying to do with it.
I use a Sennheiser headset for BF4. I'm having an issue setting up communication w/ squad-mates.
I have 'push to talk' bound to a keyboard key. However, when I push and hold it down to talk, a small chatbox screen appears and the letter I hold down to talk gets typed over and over. Then, I have to hit the 'ESC' key to get rid of that chat box on-screen after I finish talking.
What settings do I have to change to correct this somehow?

And then set your PTT button as one of the extra buttons on the left side of the mouse. I've been using this exact mouse for about six weeks now and I use the forwardmost left-side button for controlling PTT on Ventrilo and it's MUCH better than using a keyboard button!
The mouse is also surprisingly comfortable and VERY responsive!

I get the DX crashes once in a while. Most often after a match is finished, but sometimes during a game. Also, I won't touch Hardline. I knew I wouldn't touch the game the moment they announced their cops and robbers crap. I am still not tempted to try it. Give me BF5: Armageddon!
Is there a work around for the DX error crash with windows 10? I've reinstalled Windows 10 and BF4 and drivers and still have this problem. I let the game sit for a while to see patches or driver updates may have fixed the problem but its still there.

It's almost certainly a driver issue, sound/video. I'm running most current nvidia driver, onboard sound. I'd guess SLI.Two are having crashes and two are not, so it sounds like its a hit or miss problem. I guess the only way to find out in my case is to try it and see. Ive been running on this Windows 7 install for a long time now, so a clean install would probably be a good idea for me. Ive read that you have to do an in place upgrade with Windows 10 before you can clean install it, is that correct?

I played a couple rounds, think I like it so far.
So many patch changes it needed to be in PDF form, lol. Basically a bunch of small vehicle buffs and tweaks to make different setups more viable, good stuff.
IMO, removing stingers/javelins from the choppers is a HUGE change... (I'm depressed)...
