Yeah its all just wonderful. I'm ready for BF5. This game feels so damn old its ridiculous.
Its not the first time they removed something for being too fun. If its unusually fun, it has to go.
No more Stingers/Javelins on the choppers..... major bummer for those who like to play that way. (moi)
So, possible implications...
* tanks will have less to fear from the air
* players who liked to be Eng on CH w/ stinger, repair tool, and Saiga will not fly
as often (like me)
* will see more players as infantry/Eng's w/Javelins to kill tanks
Anyone see other new scenarios developing from these changes?
Being somewhat of an armor whore myself, Im not really noticing anything too bad about the APS nerf, but the lower ammo count and additional gun cool down period is driving me nuts. On the flip side, Im loving the lower staff shell count, running the sabot + staff combo was way OP on hardcore.APS got hit with a nerf sledgehammer. Its practically worthless now. Hitting tanks with JDAM, etc will be much much easier now.
Ive ran into that combo a few times and man was it frustrating. Especially when flying an opposing scout helo, since I rarely ever have one engineer to offer repairs for more than a few seconds before bailing. Sorry looper, but I too am glad its gone.If you have a true squad with the setup they mention it's almost impossible to take down the chopper with anything less than a RPG/tank shell
Laser/javs for superior ground killing, probably running laser guided on the helo.
Main guns/stinger for air.
Double repair.
Infinite ammo.
I get that it's fun, but it as also OP as fuck. Fortunately I didn't run into that setup often. Sorry looper.
RPGs still work.

Ive seen a "MrPoopyPants" in game before. As Eng/repair/w-Stinger/Saiga, I NEVER bailed out of an attack chopper. I tried to never fly w/ anyone but one of my 'friends'/great pilots... have a list of about @ 8 or so who are fantastic pilots.... are few and far between... if one of them not on, then I play as infantry/Eng, ground or in tank.
I play TDM on Golmud Railway map @ 90% of the time. I'm a below-average to average player. My in-game user name I often change as I get bored... some of the names I play under:
Athletic-Anchovy
Insane-Fungus
DFWallace
Wall-St-Thief
CDO-of-ABS-FAIL
MrPoopyPants
Novak-Djokovic
JoJO-Mayer

I love BF4, but now my fav way of playing is gone.... this am was on the attack CH w/ my fav pilot, but I had to use the RPG trying to hit vehicles... I found it quite hard... maybe just need practice. What else could I use from the CH to kill tanks ? (not the pilot)...
And I'll also REALLY miss the duels with other CH's when I have the stinger onboard...
-depressed in RI... (current username in BF4 at Golmud TDM map... 'Insane-Fungus' )
It is a bit hard, but if your pilot isn't whipping around like a vomit comet you'll get used it it. RPG is also useful against other helos, again not easy, but when you land a hit it's game over. Maybe switch to SMAW? I never liked it because I can deal with the drop from RPG well enough.
You have to understand it was an incredibly OP combo and you're simply not going to be as effective. For one, I wouldn't expect a scout helo even engage a tank, that's the attack helo's role. Maybe take some pot shots at it, but that's it.
For the first time,i jumped into a 40hz server and wow the difference is pretty amazing.Times i could kill 3 enemies with ease with less then a clip from my M416 in a matter of seconds. All my shots registered and none of those trade kills either.
I also noticed there is a ton less out of region players, whats the story with that?A handful on my last match as before there might have a good 3rd of the players with over 120+ping.
The high ticket rate makes all the difference in the world. 40 doesn't quite seem to be enough for me, I still have those "dying after I already turned the corner" deaths. 50+ seems to be the sweet spot.
Many servers have ping kick bots which remove high pingers.
The 60Hz servers seem to be just right for me.

Hey, there was a deadfred playing on the server I'm always on. Was that our own deadfred from this thread?
No, deadfred is "DeathDealer7177" on Origin.

Is it normal for me to sometimes see my frame rate struggle to stay above 60 on a 64 player match with the rig I have below? Playing at 1440p max everything with no fxaa and 2x msaa.

Ahhh... I was trying to remember who that was on my friends list.
