Do you guys have to update punkbuster at all? I am on windows 8.1 and it crashes when loading in the map and I have done the repair and it found nothing. Any ideas?

After reading your post I tried the same and can confirm that 320.49 are a HUGE improvement over the beta drivers for me.

Fraps averages from this entire game -http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/battlereport/show/1/386099103630506304/305137962/

2013-10-04 08:32:42 - bf4
Frames: 93524 - Time: 1405834ms - Avg: 66.526 - Min: 18 - Max: 125

While those mins and maxs are wide the game felt very smooth and i did not notice any dips at all while playing. I think the 18 min came while the game was loading. This was the first truly enjoyable game Ive had. Thanks for posting!

You're running 670s in SLI, correct? I've got a 2nd 670 arriving today and it'd be great if I can stick with 320.49 and get decent performance.

It is complete ass backwards for other people, beta drivers end up being their savior while half of us are getting shafted with the so called god drivers....i have been gaming since 2006 and BF2 and this is a whole new first for me.

I feel sorry for the non technical guys who can barely defrag their hard drives let alone install and play this game, they might wanna consider a console before dealing with all this bull.:|

After reading through a few BF4 beta threads it did seem rather hit or miss on which drivers fixed performance issues for people. I started with with the beta drivers after reading posts that performance was good, only to have older drives end up playable.

Not entirely surprising with a beta but Nvidia should have had this worked out before putting a BF4 beta specific driver out.

I've had to updated PB on every computer I've installed the game on so far.

I forgot about a bug I seem to be experiencing a lot. When I die, it won't go to the deploy screen right away sometimes. I have to hit esc then leave the menu. Otherwise, it just sits in the game on my dead body. Gets kind of annoying because once it happens once, it won't not happen until after the game ends or I leave / rejoin.

This has happened to me as well. It's the only bug/issue I've encountered so far.

I'm running the beta on a haswell i5, 8gb ram, 560ti with latest whql drivers, ssd, and windows 8. No performance issues for me at 1680x1050 resolution of my monitor.

Anyone else having crash to desktops? Occasionally, like one in ten games, BF4 will just crash to desktop.

Also, anytime I get points with the RPG, my score screen at the end of the round shows NaN. Not a Number problem seems kind of strange.

Yes. I've had that happen a few times. In fact, last night at the end of a round, my computer froze and I had to do a hard shut down.

Yes, Im running GTX670's in SLI and the 320.49 is working far better than the beta driver for me.

So they are making stuff up out of thin air now, like lock on RPG's? :\
Considering the model of dumb fire->easy fire:high damage->low damage I see no reason why the RPG should have any lock at all. It'll easily be the most useful rocket.

Lasers errywhere.

I like the model, maybe give laser assisted lock to the next level up in shoulder weapons if you want to but there's no reason to give the hardest hitting rocket any kind of lock.

Man that airburst seems powerful, gonna have to give it a go tonight or tomorrow whenever I get on next.

Battlefield has always been more about fun than realism. for instance: Before planes had infinite ammmo, they re-loaded and repaired by passing over the runway.

I can confirm that the 320.49 drivers work much better. I am able to use SLI now. It's definitely not perfect though, and there is still some choppiness. But it is much improved with the older drivers.

I prefer the Crysis Wars model.....laser-guided (no locking) RPG's.

Great for taking out rooftop / tower snipers. Launch the rocket up into the air way above the structure, and then pull your laser down to get it to drop straight down on top of them.

I'm having a huge number of hit detection problems vs vehicles. Tanks rounds and RPGS going straight through static tanks with no hit registered.

I haven't run into any of those problems. I have hit someone with a noob tube and it did almost no damage, but I figured it was lag. All my RPGs have hit tanks / vehicles no problem so far.

Same. I lost a battle w/ another tank because my hits weren't registering. He was hitting me head on and I was hitting him square in the side, but 3/4 of my shots didn't reg. He should have died in 3 hits.

True, but I see no reason for having lock on RPG's when there are other lock on weapons available.

BTW, infinite ammo for jets and helis are a must have for noob flyers like myself.

Im finding the helos to be much easier to fly compared to BF3, I hope the jets are the same.

RPGs don't lock on without a laser though, so it isn't that bad. I haven't actually played with anyone using a laser, so my RPGs are strictly to piss off infantry. I just wish I could Carl Gustav them. =(

The lock on RPG is ridiculous. Is it intended that it's a one-shot on a heli as well ? I mean I can lay into another chopper with my phoenix rounds and air to air missiles and it doesn't go down. One fucking RPG blows me right out of the sky.

To be fair, I think any RPG, missile, rocket, explosive, etc should blow a helicopter out of the sky. A tank shell should decimate it. I hate how durable these things are.

The Chinese tank in particular is extremely bugged.
That's because they are Chinese! *rimshot*

Wouldn't surprise me, I have had a few rounds that I "thought" should have hit but were misses. I chalked it up to bad aim since they were long range but it very could could have been a hit box issue.

Indeed. Helicopters are unstable creatures to begin with. Any explosive should be able to knock them out pretty easily.

On another note, I tried both the old 320.49 driver and compared it against the new one this afternoon. Installed and uninstalled twice back to back, same server. In my case, there was absolutely zero difference in the performance. Same exact framerate, same random stuttering here and there.

At one point if you didn't manage a real slow pass it took 2-3 sweeps to fully load. That or you could land, IF you knew how to land.

I agree but....the rpg should require either dumb luck or skill, not the advantage of a laser lock.
