yes it is. you can shoot at air targets with direct fire mode. and its fire and forget IRL

As for attacking air targets, there are two javelins. There is the American FGM-148, which is an anti-tank missile with top-attack and direct-attack modes. This missile is not intended for anti-air, nor have I ever heard of it being successfully used as a surface-to-air missile system.
There is then the British built surface-to-air missile system. Which has nothing in common with the FGM-148.

seeing that RPGs lock on i cant really see the point of having the Jav

I am mostly hoping its limited to ground only targets. As it is not used for air targets IRL, why should it be in the game?

Yeah, I did not re-read that post before I hit submit.
And I can see it hitting a mostly stationary chopper. However in BF3 you could shoot down jets if you timed things right and had a sniper laser designator up.
Nope, not true. There are definitely some visual fixes, like the insane flickering when you open the console. Possibly some UI fixes too.Its just update to address Punkbuster issues people having.
I saw the lock icon like in BF3, but didn't fire like a Jav.

Ugh, Ive had 2 crashes at loading screen out of 3 server joins since the patch too.Man, I was fine before the patch. Now I've locked up twice at the loading screen only to find that once I managed to get in game that it wiped all my settings (video, Keybinds, etc). Now, the game is crashing when I try to map my middle mouse tilt functions.. WTF
Was working fine before. Sigh. gogo Beta
You know what would be nice? If they added more strategy to these shooters. I just cant play another game of Team Death Match or glorified Team Death Match (Conquest). I know they apparantly brought back the commander thing or whatever for BF4 but even from what Ive heard of that it sounds very basic.
Id love for someone to do a new Battleground Europe type game, a real war. Something that involves a real campaign and has a real progression for your character. Something where battles actually mean something. I was hoping thats what Planetside 2 was going to be but boy was I wrong, just another Team Death Match but just on one big map that never changes with no end.
