As far as I know Arma doesnt have a campaign, by campaign I dont mean single player story, I mean a war campaign. And I dont think you rise through the ranks like in Battleground Europe. Theres really nothing like Battleground Europe other than Battleground Europe as far as I know. Battlefield would be perfect for such a game but Im sure its easier for them to crank out lobby shooters and watch the money come rolling in.

You could try installing Forgotten Hope 2 mod for BF2 and go play with the World at War guys. They set up "campaigns" with something like 8 hour long battles ever weekend and take time to assign ranks and units and expect people to perform specific tasks. It isn't exactly persistent, but it does give you a grander and more tactical experience. FH2 is also a very very very good mod.

i joined an empty 32 player server with 21 ping and it is extremely laggy..fps constantly dropping to 1

also if i just stand still in the game it shows 45-60 fps constantly but if i move or try to shoot fps drops to 1 and comes back to 45-60 if i stand still again...setting all are in high ultra with MSAA off...getting same problem in lowest possible settings on 720p res

That sounds pretty fun.

Must have been living under a rock but there was a BF4 beta patch?Has it fixed the god awful fps and stutter?

Might be a tad better, but its hard to tell with all the lockups and crashes.

Reading about it now and it seems for some people much worst then before, meh guess this is the one time i could be thankful origin is popping up a error on a download cause i would have wasted 2 hours downloading it to most likely have more issues then before lol.

Last time i played i got this rainbow lock up screen that scared me half to death cause it looked so bad i thought my video card popped or something and then when the screen went black i almost crapped myself till i saw the desktop a minute later. Never was so glad to see the desktop in my entire life.

so i played a bit last night, i noticed that CPU use seemed to be a bit lower but GPU use was still 95-99% for me however they seemed to be running cooler for some reason i didnt notice the fans spinning up as much, game did not seem any more or less smooth in playing.


it did crash a few times after matches, i actually think it had to do with me closing the battlog wepage while the game was still open. i just got the BF4 has encountered an error and must close. no hard locks or anything even in fullscreen mode i can still move the mouse out of the game (dual monitors)

Sometimes it seems long because it feels like half my bullets are disappearing. Other times it's basically instant kills. Very random.

maybe thats it, sometimes i seem to kill people from a really long range with very few bullets and then i can shoot 20 at someones back 10 yards away and not kill them

default prone key is Z or X

as for the tanks i noticed the shell "drop" is pretty insane even over a short distance, which just seems wrong as in reality they are basically lasers at close distances

I think the default prone button is Z.

I always change mine to L Ctrl.

Tanks and a few of the weapons dont seem to be properly zeroed.

the tank aim bug has been reported, shots go low and to the right of the reticle.

Holy hell, not sure what program or game on my computer did it but something shut off a ton of services and one of those services apparently made any origin download impossible.Enabled them and a few seconds later my downloads magically work again.

Perhaps the patch might make the game playable for me, maybe it won't and while i wait the quarter century for World of Tanks to update i mind as well wait for the beta patch as well.

I don't know if you guys noticed, but for those who think the guns seem to be "off" its because the graphics on gun is off, take a look at the preview or of someone shooting at you and you will see TWO muzzle flashes coming from guns.

I think when you put stuff on gun it messed with graphics of it. I say this because I do a TON better with iron sights.

Nope, not true. There are definitely some visual fixes, like the insane flickering when you open the console. Possibly some UI fixes too.

I did not have any flickering.

Did they make the SOFLAM more realistic? Can Recon now actuall manually laze with the SOFLAM where you want the laser to be, or is it still broken from Reality?

Interesting. More patches!
I doubt they will change anything gameplay-wise, but that's perfectly fine. The technical stuff in the background is the most important. Gameplay elements can and will be tweaked anytime.

Wonder if there will be any difference after the patch with windows 7?Appears they want to focus on windows 8/DX11.1 users which makes me a little nervous as primarily a windows 7 user.

Also wonder when it will be released,if i recall beta ends on the 15th...

RPG's being lock on weapons is the most horrendous addition to the game imaginable. It basically makes engineer class not have to choose between AA and Anti Vehicle. So stupid.

The only way they could keep it this way and fix how overpowered it is would be to make it so you can only lock on to your own squad's soflams.
