as fun as bf3 has been, i'm ready for an update - here's hoping for a much more polished experience
I rarely post here, but I check out this thread every day for updates. Thanks Gully for keeping us informed.
Question: do you guys know at what time exactly the beta opens? Yesterday, while downloading at noon the countdown said 1 day 6 hours which would put it at 6:00 PM PST tonight? I thought it would be on Oct 1st?
Origin client says 4 am on 10/1.
I'm glad you mentioned beta ends Oct. 15, so I will keep BF3 installed to play in between then and BF4 release date.
I really like the changes to suppression, well at least the ideas about the changes. Will have to see how it's implemented, but it sounds great.I'm ready for my bullets to not disappear when I am suppressed. Sometimes I think suppression even causes my player to turn his gun around and shoot himself.
Additional GTX 670 for SLI.....check
Pre-loaded BF4 beta.....check
Installed latest Nvidia 331.40 beta drivers....check
Yeah , EA is limiting the allocation of keys , just like GMG only got a certain amount of keys freakin EA.
I feel strongly that the customers that bought BF3 premium should be "entitled" to some discount. BS EA..
So we're really doing this again: pre-order get China rising, buy China Rising again with Premium. Now for $120. We are Sheeple.
Installed on both my laptop and desktop during the first half of the football games today. Don't know if the beta is really worth it since the game is nearly finished. Doubt a lot will change.
the beta is probably a version that was finished and sent to QA in late august. wahtever feedback the beta provides will drive patch 1 I am sure, and not the game. The game is probably being finalized this week and being sent for QA testing(based on bf3 stuff when they had mentioned a ~4 week QA cycle for big patches)

This beta, being so close to the release, is just for the fans and to get started on patching the launch issues. They are pretty much finished with all major coding by now. They are only going to be doing minor tweaks at this point.
I hope people will report things and not just "play early".
I hope so, Id love to pown peeps as spongebob. :biggrin:this is what yer soldier in BF4 will look like now.
Watch DICE multiplayer designer Thomas Andersson flood an entire map in Battlefield 4 as he shows off more aspects of Levolution, a concept which the games entire multiplayer will heavily revolve around.
Matt Cuttle of FTW once again sits down with Battlefield developers at DICE to talk multiplayer, this time with a specific focus on the design of the new Battlefield 4 multiplayer map, Flood Zone. You might recognize it from recent Battlefield 4 multiplayer trailers showing off a destroyed dam holding water that floods an entire map.
Youll get to see it in action in this video presentation below. You can also catch some brand new multiplayer footage near the end, so stay tuned.

Be sure to check out Battlefield 4′s entire multiplayer map list right here and dont forget to participate in the beta starting tomorrow for early access invitees, October 4 for the public.
Yeah, thats one of my biggest gripes too. If they are serious about getting into competitive gaming the sound has to fixed. One of the biggest things that annoys me with BF3 is the horrible lack of sound from behind you. You can hear footsteps everywhere, except when someone is coming up from behind to knife you. What the hell? I will be curious to see if they fixed that, as it is extremely infuriating.
