Are all unlocks activated? I've got 70+ kills with the default assault weapon and I've only unlocked the muzzle break (or something like that). I have unlocked the SCAR-H, and the Stinger, but no optics/grips/accessories for any weapons (besides the muzzle break).

I've not had any lagging or any major issues. Have noticed floating debris, bodies floating in area, etc, but overall I think it's a pretty good beta. I like the movement and gun mechanics better than BF3. RPGs are improved/travel faster.

I also agree that Levolution is kind of a gimmick. It's cool to see the tower fall. However, some of the other buildings don't even do anything - you can shoot them with an RPG and just a puff of smoke appears. No glass breaks/nothing falls, etc. Kind of half-baked. I do, however, like the "little" things like riding in elevators, raising and lowering the concrete pillars to block vehicles, and opening and closing gates. Makes it feel more immersive.

I'm running Windows 8, FWIW.

I couldn't get into a game last night. It would be stuck at loading... I gave up after force closing the client 5 or 6 times. I think servers might have been filling up before I loaded and it wouldn't let me in or something, but who knows.

I might try again tonight when I get home again. The initial rush has probably died down.

I had that same issue smack.. sometimes it just takes a realllllly long time. I had actually Alt Tabbed out at one point and was browsing through the battle log forums for solutions when I noticed that in the background it had actually moved on past Loading to the deployment screen. Took like 5 minutes.

Haven't had that issue today though.

After poking around battlelog a bit last night; the starting weapons only have unlocks from the battlepack(s), the first one after soldier rank 3.

Any unlocked weapons, from using the starting weapon, have unlocks based on number of kills.

So using any class of weapon will unlock more of that type of weapon, with those having kill based unlocks.

Based on my location for reference, I had no problems getting into the Chicago servers. (25 ms ping)

It's a game man. You have to make concessions for the lack of real visibility when looking down sights due to res, scale etc.

No you don't. Play ArmA III.

It works better, as the animation movement becomes more fluid and precise since the entire screen isn't jumping up in your face. That is the whole point of iron-sighting and holo-sights - quick, accurate target acquisition in close / medium distances.

If you're playing a game where you're not able to accurately shoot iron-sights without zooming the screen, it is because the developers didn't know how to create a realistic sight-picture with the correct scale (in other words, laziness). If they are too far away to accurately aim at without zooming, then you should have to work in closer or equip magnifying optics.

Recon with starting weapons in Domination mode is slightly frustrating as it is so fast paced.

It is a better class for Conquest starting out; the only Recon in Domination doing anything was using the unlocked semi-auto rifle with a 4x scope.

Support class seems beastly on Domination.

Good point! Semi Auto would have been great.. I will say I've been getting good spot bonuses!

Took a while to get the DMR unlock. Worth it if you a rush type sniper. Canted iron sights are really nice.

Also, I LOVE MY SENSOR BALLS! (4th tier unlock for recon)

If you have the black "Loading..." screen, update punkbuster. You'll notice that you're having that problem on servers with punkbuster enabled, and you have no problems with servers that have punkbuster disabled. I think at some point during the day, they started enabling PB, but the game client didn't download the latest PB update to match (Evenbalance servers seemed REALLY overloaded) causing the black Loading screen.

I had that same issue, tried to join a server about 30 minutes later it started working again. Definitely seems like a server issue, wouldn´t worry to much about the problem being on your end.

I wasn't worried at all. I just tried a few times and finally gave up. I'll try again today. I knew there would be problems day one due to the massive influx of people trying it.

Got a few rounds in and it wasn't too bad. Game looks great before that damn dust fills the air, but if you get your distances down, you can snipe through that dust and use it as cover. Went crazy in a tank and fragged 13 people. The tank bullets behave in a more realistic way as they wiggle through the air with nice vapor trails. Looks great and very detailed.
Regarding performance, the game defaulted to ultra but with MSAA off and it ran well enough at about 60fps give or take a little but i'd really like to have AA so i'll probly settle for high settings or something. It runs well enough to not justify spending money on cards right now only to be unhappy with CPU bottlenecking anyways!
I quickly forgot about it being a beta and I enjoyed the game. I can find a new home here, I just need to get that recon class unlocked and sorted out.

Just way to many people actually claiming a way better experience with windows 8 over windows 7 to even ignore,so i think its time to switch the os for sure.

I am finding these reports on random web forums like linustechtips and even in Battlelog and there is plenty if you look around.

It has nothing to do with win8 or win 7, its some driver issue. Don't be dumb and drop $80 because you read it in a forum.

I had a similar problem, a pop up was under BF4 saying that I needed to update my drivers. Look for something like that sound silly but I missed it 3 times last night.

my most annoying feature was hitting an unassigned key brought up the command prompt, therefore ignoring all my input until I hit tilde Again.
The game ran fine for me, horrible lagginess can be corrected by taking the obvious action, find a better, closer, server.

One crash, a direct X message about a design-time error, I lost the screen print because I had to reboot, to get things running again. I'm sure someone else will report it.

Either the Beta has a memory leak or it just uses a crap ton of RAM. I had a crash and the "Windows ran out of memory message" while playing last night. I run 8gb of ram and only had a 512mb pagefile. Changed to "system managed pagefile" and I haven´t had any more problems.

Makes me wonder if I should get another 2x4gb kit, but RAM is so expensive nowadays it´s hard to justify the purchase unless I really need it.

Also, I ran a fraps benchmark during my final match of the night and of course it was the only server that I joined that had really bad rubber banding, but my results where (1440p, all ultra, motion blur off + 4x msaa):

Frames: 21774 - Time: 300000ms - Avg: 72.580 - Min: 0 - Max: 101

GTX 680 SLI 2GB, 2600K @4.5GHZ

My vram usage was pegged at 2000mb, so maybe that caused my min value of 0fps and what I interpreted as rubber banding???

I think I´ll run with MSAA off from now on, performance is about 30fps better and feels a lot smoother in general.

I'm loving it. I like that it 'feels' different from BF3 or else it would just be BF3 all over again with new maps. I agree that it feels 'floaty' though. Hopefully that gets tightened up. Also the movement of other players/vehicles is completely screwed up and sometimes they jerk around or warp ahead. This is something they have to have corrected for the release.

Choppers feel much better and are more fun to fly, but damn they are too resilient to damage. The hydra missiles need to do more damage as well imo.

My one concern are these battlepacks. Is it really going to be the case that further attachment unlocks are not laid out in a linear fashion by using the gun but will be random when you open battlepacks ? That reeks of an attempt to get us to buy battlepacks from EA...

I went to the SCAR-H as soon as I unlocked it and have gotten several unlocks for it rather quickly, including the RDS, muzzle brake, laser sight, and ergo grip.

Picked up a support weapon a couple times on Domination and couldnt hit crap with it. LOL

Im gonna try the Recon class here in a few, Ill have to check my key bindings to see how to aim canted.
