PC Game Update Goes Live Nov 14
We are happy to report that the PC Battlefield 4 game update will go live tomorrow, November 14. The main focus of this update is threefold:

1) Reduce the number of crashes
We believe this update will solve a large portion of the most commonly occuring game crashes, and the improvement in overall stability should make a big difference for many players.

2) Eliminate a network sync bug
If you’ve been experiencing situations in multiplayer where it appears that you are taking damage from enemies through walls, you might have been the victim of a network sync bug. In this game update, we have identified and eliminated one such bug that caused this type of gameplay experience. We are continuing to work on more multiplayer optimizations concerning network performance.

3) Improve Network Smoothing
We have made some improvements to the ”Network Smoothing” functionality that you can find in the OPTIONS>GAMEPLAY menu. The Network Smoothing slider governs a group of settings that aim to produce a tighter multiplayer experience based on your specific packet loss situation.

If you’ve been experimenting with the Network Smoothing slider earlier, it might now yield better results. If you haven’t tried it before, please explore this setting and set it to the lowest value you can without experiencing graphical glitches in the game. By setting it lower, you can get a tighter multiplayer experience, depending on your specific network situation.

Besides the above mentioned focus areas, this PC game update contains a number of other fixes and tweaks that we will detail once it’s live.

This game update for PC goes live around 10AM UTC/2AM PST November 14. Your Origin Client should acknowledge and automatically download this update for you, as usual. Otherwise, you can right click your game in the client and select ”Check for Update”. There will be a Battlelog maintenance downtime for about an hour as this update goes live. During this time multiplayer on PC will be unavailable.

We will release full patch notes for this game update later, but the three items mentioned above are by far the most important changes in this update. We understand that stability has been rocky for some players, and hope that this update will make the game run smoother and more stable for you. Let us know in the comments below.

I bolded the part that happens to me so frequently it almost makes me want to stop playing. I suck, I mean my kd is .3, but I do have 30 flag caps in my short time playing. And while I'd rather not die so frequently I will always try to heal a teammate, revive a teammate, cap a flag, etc first.

But I keep seeing these people behind walls, containers, etc immediately after killing me and it's really getting old.

So incase anybody else has a key binding issue... I found my solution. I downloaded the b4 settings editor http://battlefield.realmware.co.uk/bf4-settings-editor/ . When I went to the jets tab, there were actually two mappings for the same key for the same action. Example throttle up was bound to W and E. I cleared out the binding that wasn't needed. Also another cool thing is that the editor detected my Bf4 Beta settings and asked if I wanted to import them. I wish I would have known about that sooner..

I have tried this out last week, and I used to add the performance commands on launch. Its a very useful tool.

I definitely need to go to a pistol only server and start unlocking. Really want to play with a bunch of the other pistols.

It seems the best way to go. I was struggling because I hardly ever use a pistol, but when I unlocked the G18 I started doing really well. I had to switch to Support though because I was going through ammo so quick.

I got five %200 boosts (SNAP INTO A SLIMJIM!), 8 %100, 8 %50, and 13 %25. I think im set.

I think all these people crashing has to be graphics card related, i have not crashed at all this week.

I dont think it is. I noticed quite a few times a couple people in the squad will crash at the same time. I'll be playing with 2 or 3 people from my friends list, then they are just gone. Turns out they crashed at the same time.

Hope they manage to actually fix the problem so I can come back and play again. The only other game out right now is X-Com, with nothing else good coming out for months.

Sure is nice to play with people I am familiar with, pubbing it alone sure gets boring.

I had high hopes for this game, but as usual EA/DICE let me down at the start. I wish I could give trying out now game like 3-4 months to work out the kinks. The constant crashing is annoying.

The only crashes I get are between rounds while loading subsequent maps personally. In-game is all quite smooth at least, except for the one time I was in C on Hainan when it started to collapse and that murdered my FPS for about 45 seconds lol.

I mostly play Normal, some custom games I dont know what they change to be honest and rarely hardcore.

I mostly look for conquest or if I want fast ranking then tdm. obliteration and rush is annoying because you need to have a well organized team and that rarely ever happens

I try to find a server running normal mode when playing. I also try to stick to the official servers and nothing less than ranked.

Nope. I haven't since the open beta, and I won't. I suppose if I get invited to a group, I would, but I wouldn't like it!

Some play HC. I have joined some games with ATers and they were playing HC, or customized to where it essentially was HC. I just dont like not knowing where I got shot from. HC promotes camping!

I usually play HC with minimap enabled. The one thing I hate is that sniping is way too easy.

Well, today was horrible for finding a winning team. Out of 30 matches, I was on the winning side only 5 times. Had a run at the end of 1 out of 12.

On BF3 I mostly stuck with HC, in BF4 Ill play pretty much anything.

However Ive found playing the objective in Obliteration on HC is a real pain in the arse. Carrying the bomb paints a giant target on a very soft target. LOL
