Basically I am FPS games-retarded.
I can't even drive a bloody tank around without getting stuck in something every ten seconds.
Then all of a sudden I start taking damage and am dead before I even realize which direction it was coming from. The damn turret moves so slowly it takes me like five seconds to circle around, and obviously I still don't see jack shit.
When I see enemy tank, I start shooting, miss most of my shots, and he kills me.
I also can't hit any soldier that runs around, the stupid LMG doesn't seem to do much dmg at all. They quicky show up, shoot a RPG at me, and hide before I can react. If I try to move around to find them, I am usually dead before I turn around.
I am seriously close to smashing something here.
No, you are not FPS retarded. Set high DPI for the mouse. Max out the sensitivity setting for the in game vehicles. In a tank out of spawn, approach conflict areas carefully. SPAM Q or whatever key you changed the spotting to, if you changed the key bindings. Watch the minimap. Hang in there until you unlock active protection. Use boost when backing out of trouble. Active protection doesn't last long and the cooldown is massive but for it's brief duration, it will neutralize rockets fired at you. Mount the heavy MG once you unlock it. In normal mode, try to switch to 3rd person to spot guys to to side/behind you.
Get in a tank. As soon as you start leaving spawn, spam Q. At first try to stay at the edges of conflict areas, at least until you kill guys close by or figure out how many of them are there and how hard they are pushing into the area. If there are no enemy vehicles in the area, switch to MG, keep spamming Q and keep checking minimap. Stay mobile, even if it means moving just 10 ft then back to previous position. Stay mobile and watch your road kill count go up.
The ACE 52 CQB actually has fairly low muzzle velocity; if you're looking to go for longer range engagements, I find the AK-5C to still be the best carbine.
ACE 52 is just a beast close to mid range though.
On paper, the values that aren't good I can live with. ROF is ok for me, velocity is lower but recoil on the x axis is low, y axis I can simply counter with mouse. The range and damage is what got me going after it.
Funny scene last night: Childs 20 yards ahead of me, casually walks into a building. Silence, then a short burst is heard, then every weapon in the BF4 arsenal is heard then Childs running out of the building followed by half the enemy team, so many of them they block each other at the door trying to get out and go after him. Too bad I crashed, I was setup perfectly to blast the guys at the door.
