My question is, once you finish all those long term bonus points, all you can do is keep on grinding up?

there are a lot of ways to get bonus points

for example, get 5K points for every 100 kills with a weapon for a gold star

also, it's so fucking aggravating that DICE can't release what would seem like a quick fix to team balancing. just got DCed defending Valporaiso Rush, but before that it was 12 defenders vs >16 attackers starting from the very first 2 objectives to the last two. no idea why I stuck around except I just kept bitching about teams and no one bothered to switch to the defenders the entire time lol.

on a side note, my knife was the only weapon that seemed to work when I joined Nelson Bay a round near the end

What is EA using for a server, some 486DX machine?

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it just keeping track of stats and log-ins? I remember with BF2 the biggest problem was that your stats may have taken a few days to update.

Anyone know how many BC2 units have been sold?

12 on 16? I was on the tug boat server earlier and it was 2 vs 10. Needless to say my team of 2 lost each round. after 3 games of asking people to even the teams I just left.

The Model I combined the mainboard and keyboard into one unit, in what was to be a common case design trend throughout the 8-bit microcomputer era, although it had a separate power supply unit. It used a Zilog Z80 processor clocked at 1.77 MHz (later models were shipped with a Z80A). The basic model originally shipped with 4 KB of RAM, and later 16 KB.

match that w/ this storage setup and i think i can figure out the problems:

trs-80 w/ tape drive - TRS-80s with Level I BASIC read and wrote tapes at 250 bits per second (25 bytes per second); Level II BASIC doubled this to 500 bits per second (50 bytes per second).

There's no incentive for people to even the teams since the winning team gets more points.

Sigh, if I run it as administrator I can see the server ping but then I lose the ability to knife as I have it bound to a mouse button. No idea why it does this, did it in the beta to. Oh well, seems the servers I've picked are luckily with good pings to me so I won't worry about it.

If you run as Admin and go in to settings and try to bind the mouse button to knife, what does it do? Not recognize the clicking of the mouse button? Or, does the binding work, but it doesn't work in game?

first post was never updated with those weapon stat tables? i can't remember what page they're on.

Several links added to the bottom of the Soldier Classes & Weapons section of the FAQ. What you are looking for is probably there.

Supposedly, a BCBF2 Admin Console Tool is in the works that is similar to the one used in BF2. From there, an admin will be able to set the server settings to hopefully allow for team autobalancing. Or at worse, it will give the admin the ability to manually balance the teams.

It simply stops recognizing that input. Settings are still saved correctly in game, and trying to re-bind it does nothing. I'm wondering if it's a setpoint issue, possibly some kind of admin conflict?


Also, is anyone else really frustrated with scrolling through your inventory? It's like it changes things up on you sometimes so scroll back to what you thought was your gun and you end up throwing a medic pack at someone.

What I hate is not only does the game lack auto-balance but it prohibits switching teams more than once. I think I was in that game (Or another server with the same problem) and had already switched once so I couldn't switch to try and even it up. I hate leaving the server and rejoining because 9 times out of 10 I can't rejoin. I click on the server - it says 'Connecting' or loading or whatever and then does nothing. I then can't join the server again till I re-start the game. I give it to the end of the round - hope others join and stay and if not, leave and find another server

Seriously - did they think no autobalance was a good thing?

Side note: I still can't see pings - even when running as Admin

If you have the Steam version, you need to run Steam as Admin as well, or turn off UAC.

New Battlefield Blog Post: High game server demand pushes capacity past 150k player slots

Yesterday an article went up at VE3D stating that DICE has asked all GSP’s to turn off idle servers and it caused a bit of a stir in the community. While there is some truth to the article it also has a number of inaccuracies which we’ll explain here.

This was not asked of all GSP’s but only to one of our closest GSP’s, Multiplay.co.uk. We approached them with the idea of shutting down servers that have had no players in the server for 8 hours with the option of opting in or out for the server owners.

We did not make this decision lightly but as an attempt to temporarily lower traffic on EA servers that is caused by the game server browser while we work on a client fix for the browser here at DICE. After previously shutting down all EA Public servers which accounted for approximately 40,000 player slots we have actually gained approximately 50,000 more player slots from new rental servers. We currently have enough server capacity to allow over 150,000 players to get in a game server at once and that is just on PC.

As those who have servers at Multiplay will be aware you can opt out of your server being shut down during times of inactivity, however if you aren’t aware of how to do this and you would like to opt out of allowing your server to be shut down when idle you can do so through your account at ClanForge.

1. Goto ClanForge -> Servers, select your server and Click Edit
2. Once in the edit screen configure your servers "Auto Restart Interval" to something other than None e.g. 1 Week
3. Save your server settings

If you chose to opt in to allow your server to be shut down during times of inactivity you can start your server again at any time and as often as you like.

Other server hosts may offer a similar option on their servers. Please contact your server provider directly to see if they have any plans and if so how you can opt in or out.

This temporary solution will help reduce the server load until we can release a client fix to help reduce server browser load while keeping enough game server slots running for everyone to be able to get in game. Once our client update is complete, Multiplay will not use the idle server shut down setting and we will start up all of the EA Public servers again.

They should add a multiplier to reduce points of the team with more players. So if it's 20 vs 10, they should multiply everyone's score on the larger team by 10/20.

People would change teams rather than get half of their points.
