I find it annoying that I die more than I kill - yet I still usually end up with the highest score each round. With 1500 kills, I'm 200 in debt from a 1.0 KDR @ 1700 deaths. I just don't know how to change things up in order to live longer and die less. I mean I move slower than most players, I'm an OFP/Arma2 Vet so I usually am scared for my life (HC mode). I crouch and check everywhere prior to making a move to the next cover point.. Pfft, I just don't know.

Maybe its because I'm dedicating 100% of my time towards each class one at a time and I simply suck at a particular one. (Doubtful lol).

Just bought this game today. Anyone have some quick tips from BF2 to this game? I was a die hard BF2 multiplayer and have not played any other FPS except for this.

if you want to build up lots of points to rank up fast, play Rush and Medic and be on the Attacking side giving out med kits and defibrillating. your K/D ratio will increase once you unlock the M60 for Medic. you don't start out with the defibrillator or medic pack, but it doesn't take long to unlock them. if you wait for a fellow Medic to die though, you'll get there faster by taking the Medic's kit.

an additional tip, let's say you are Assault. if you pick up a Medic's kit, any points you earn with the Medic kit will apply to your Assault score.

LOL I Know what you mean, I have about weeks worth of time on the game now and haven't bothered looking at my stats but there are so many times that I have done the same thing...

It is getting better as I learn the maps and slowly get better weapons...it is just hard at the beginning having weak asa weapons compared to some of these turds that have so many hours logged already!

This is generally how I feel after getting schooled in this game...

I said I don't deny some people do it, but its not any where near as bad as you make it out to be. I have never once seen both entire teams camping in 1 spot the whole game. you're so full of shit.

No ping displayed - This is caused by Windows admin privileges. To view ping in the server browser run BFBC2.exe with administrator privileges.

I don't know what else to try. I'm logged in my computer as the Admin. I have right clicked on the .EXE and selected Run As Admin. I have gone into the EA folder, went to the properties of the EXE and checked run game as admin. I have all the BETA files removed from my computer and registry but I still only get 1/4 of the servers to show me a ping. I'm at my wits end trying to figure this out, I've come to the conclusion that its a Win7 problem.

I don't have that problem, and I'm using Win7. The problem I have is the [ATOT] server is always full

Did you have to open any ports in your router or do anything other than install the game?

How are you sorting/filtering the results? One thing I think I noticed over the weekend was that when I just let the browser fill up I got ping numbers on every server, but when I sorted it by game mode, or filtered it on game mode or something, most of the pings went to dashes. Didn't pay enough attention to it at the time to rigorously try to repeat it, but it's something to try perhaps.

I think to get those results you need to play on 16 or less man servers. I find playing with 32 players especially when concentrated in one area you're bound to die a lot unless you hanging way back with a ranged weapon.

That's what I miss about Medal of Honor, with the buildings and environment on most maps you could actually do some sneaking around to surprise someone.

It's not just you, I have run BC2 and Steam with admin privledges (including launching from BC2 shortcut with Steam closed prior to that) and it still doesn't work (in Vista x64). I've just given up on pings.

What I do is refresh and search for servers with "Seattle" in them (closest place with lots of servers up) and favourite those as I know from other MP games I ping 20-40 to Seattle data centres.

Such a fun game, but the UI is painfully bad. Really starting to hate the lack of team voice comm, or at least squad leaders should be able to talk to each other.

The only filter I have checked is No Password. I'm not sorting by game mode or maps. I just tried a search with nothing checked and still only came up with 1/4th of the list with pings.

Did you try searching with all the filters checked besides punkbusters and a game mode selected as well? Also, hit cancel after 5 seconds and wait a few more seconds.

Well I think its Punkbuster related. I have Punkbuster and NO Password checked and the search results give me the entire server list all with pings.

Hmm - the new blog post Gully posted above mentioned downloading and running not only pbsetup but also pbsvc as a fix to a Vista/7 "service communication" problem. Might want to try that.

I downloaded both pbsetup and pbsvc and ran them both, pbsetup seemed to have found an update but when I got back into the game I got the same thing. I also found that checking the PB filter box finds server that aren't using PB, I thought it was the other way around. The weird thing is though is when I do the initial search it shows pings for servers that are both using and not using PB so its not like its only finding servers that aren't using PB. I'm not sure if its only finding server that have the same version of PB that I have or what the deal is.

Isnt it strange that no one seems to use a mic? People complain that no one uses a mic on PS3, but PS3 puts PC to shame. I've only heard people using a mic like 3 times. 2 of those times was just to ask if anyone could hear them.

Not that I think its actually needed, as a good squad just works well together without saying anything. I just thought it was strange. I remember getting voice to work back in the day was a pain, but it just works now and its puzzling that no one uses it.

Yea it really sucks no one uses it. This game really needs it. I tried using it and no one lse had one so I said f-it and don't even use mine.
