Loving this game, every time I play it I like it more and more. But, at the same time, it seems like every time I play it I find something else wrong with it;

It seems really hard to knife people in this game, maybe Im still just use to the knife in MW2 but I fail almost every time I try to knife someone.

I dont like that I can not push TAB to check the scores while I am dead and waiting to respawn.

I believe if you hit ESC when dead it pops up the scoreboard

IMO the best map is Panama canal but it sucks that you can only play it in conquest mode. I hate the night snow rush map. It's always a mess of medic/grenade launcher clusterf***

No, there is a 'invert flight control' that only inverts the flight control and nothing else. Sadly, it also screws with the UAV.

Isnt it strange that no one seems to use a mic? People complain that no one uses a mic on PS3, but PS3 puts PC to shame. I've only heard people using a mic like 3 times. 2 of those times was just to ask if anyone could hear them.

Not that I think its actually needed, as a good squad just works well together without saying anything. I just thought it was strange. I remember getting voice to work back in the day was a pain, but it just works now and its puzzling that no one uses it.

It seems to be pretty spotty - works for some but not for others, even if they try it - no way to tell if the guys you're playing with aren't trying or are trying but it's borked. I made the spelling correction in the .ini file and I do a "voice check" as soon as I join a squad (no results yet, but I haven't played much yet, I'm only Rank 1 so far). Eventually I'll land on someone who can hear me and will talk back, and then I'll Friend them. If everyone tries this eventually (assuming it's actually working or DICE can fix it) as many people will be using voice as used it in BF2/2142.

So I installed my new 5850 tonight, and the game runs on MAX settings vsync,hbao, etc.. at 1920x1080 above 30fps at all times, with my e6750 running at ~3.4GHz

at 99%, been downloading since 3pm. 150kb/ sec ftl. only have a 2.8ghz c2d, 2gb ram and 9600 gt. but i did just score an auction on ebay for a gtx 260 for $135 shipped. also upping the ram to 4gb. keeping my cpu for now unless it's a huge bottleneck then i'll grab a quad.

I tried, but people in my squad didn't hear me.
Also, there's no indication of whether the mic is active or not. I tend to be on vent with my squad anyway, so it's not that big of a deal.

Just had to post as I'm one happy MF'er...updated my video card last night to an XFX 5770.

Holy Crap!! what a world of difference!! I was running my old 7950gt! LOL!

So with this rig BC2 runs very well at all medium settings..Dx 11

Yeah it does suck that no one uses it. Playing Team Fortress 2 it was great because a lot of the team used it and it really helped in order to work together. Same with Left 4 Dead to a little lesser extent. Like someone else said you can work together in BC2 decently enough without it, but it would be much better if more people used mics.

In addition, the Steam version will no longer have SecuROM.

The patch is going through Steam compatibility testing as soon as possible.

The patch is backward compatible. (We are not updating the servers, only the game clients.) So old & new game clients can play with each other.

it's good to see team balancing, max player limit per team, and more specific limitss to when voluntary team switching can occur didn't make it into the patch

for a game that emphasizes team play, it sure is great teams are rarely within <=1 player

Grenade spam is nothing. Try getting knocked out of the Battle for PAX tournament because every team was sitting on roofs using Gustav's w/ +ammo +damage. =/

Whatever, Squad Deathmatch is a terrible terrible mode anyway.

You're saying it's easy to spam grenades; what the clip is saying is that it's not very effective. Arguing two different points.

Sure, you can spam grenades all you want, but it's pretty pointless. The damage radius is quite small and there are far more potent weapons in the game.

Grenade spam in BC2 is a total non-issue.
