Anyone remember playing Battlefield Vietnam pre patch and how overpowered the M60 was in that game as well?

I challenge you to find a single post where I even mention IW and Dice in the same post. Or a single post where I compliment Dice as the best company ever (should be interesting considering BC2 is the first Dice game I've played since BF1942 and I'm rather unimpressed with the package as a whole).

Was commenting more on people in general, not you specifically, now hating on the game when they were so proud that it was going to be the MW2 killer and it could do no wrong.

mw2 killed itself. bc2 came along and many are never going to look at another cod game.

i've joined a mw2 game. oh look, another hacker. 100-2 record on rundown ground war. boring.

I haven't ran into a lot of noob tubers. The first few days when the game just came out, I did, but after that, not so much.

I run into n00b tubers it seems as often as pontifex runs into snipers. At first when I didn't know what the weapon/class tree looked like I thought these guys were just out of ammo and switched to the tube in desperation. Buuut no, they're just using them as a primary infantry killer. It reminds me of a guy named Bazooka Joe who played MoH with a n00b tube only.

Anyone else just getting unlocks without knowledge of them? Logged in today and found me some magnum ammo, didn't unlock that before to my knowledge. Also the m93r just showed up one day. Not complaining, just finding it a bit odd.

Instead of trolling this or any other BC2 thread why don't you go play the game and try to get better. I know its going to take some practice, its not the same recycled garbage game play that the COD series has been putting out for the last 3 years so you'll have to spend some time with it, the maps are 3 times the size of any MW2 map so you'll have to use more brain power and try to remember where stuff is and most of all you'll have to work as a team instead of just running and gunning and trying to get kill streaks. Your attempt to paint the crowd in this thread as wishy-washy from one extreme (fanboys) to another (hating on the game) is total fail. You can't take one person's comments and then mix them with another's and try to place them in the same context. For instance, your comment was to GA's post, who has not been one of the "fanboys" you speak of.

Bad Company 2 has a fully destructible environment, so you can destroy walls, sandbags, make craters, plow through forests to get however you want to an objective. Now, of course, this makes camping extremely hard, so snipers will have to be extra skilled to survive. But then again, the maps are huge, so if you're a good sniper, you can hold off an enemy attack for a very long time. Not only can you destroy walls, but you can also topple buildings for awesome moments reminding you of Mercenaries. On top of that, you can chip away cover, so you can't really hide behind anything anymore.

The campaign for Bad Company 2 is going to be much grittier. The humor is still there, but less frequent, as you'll be seeing blood (I'm not sure about gore though) everywhere. So that means less Truckasauras Rex and rock-paper-scissor games between battles.

The graphics have also improved, with a much cleaner look since DICE has now dropped the grainy visual effect. I'm also guessing the sound effects are improving as well, to be on par with the destruction. Vehicles have also been given a visual upgrade, looking even more realistic. Character models will also be updated, even more so than Bad Company (hell, in Bad Company, you could see the dirt in their faces, the individual threads for their uniform)

Multiplayer is where all the hype is at. DICE has made a legendary multiplayer experience, and now they're turning it up even further. They've dropped all the classes from Bad Company except for Assault and Recon. They've split up the Support class into two, called Medic and Engineer. The Demolitions class is probably going to mix with Engineer, and the Specialists class is probably mixing up with Assault. The Recon class, therefore, is the only unchanged class. The Medic can heal teammates with a defribillator, and can use it as a weapon as well. Another tool for the Medic is something called a MedKit, which can be used to heal nearby teammates (as well as enemies). The engineer is anti-vehicle and vehicle friendly, so he can heal friendly or neutral vehicles, and has rocket launchers to take out tanks as well. Engineers can also lay down ammo packs to resupply friendly troops. Also, DICE is allowing the classes to be able to mix and match attachments as well as picking your weapon, although you have a limited selection of weapons for each class, thereby giving a specific use for each class. Sidearms are now default for each class. More variety in gadgets may also be available, as well as swapping gadgets. As it turns out, there are also specializations, which I believe is to be similiar to the perk system from Modern Warfare. You can equip two perks at any time from a total of 13. In addition, there are also 15 gadgets to choose from, over 200 weapon customization options, 40 weapons, and 15 vehicles to choose from. That's quite a bit to just customize. Also, the squad system is even more advanced. In addition to choosing who to spawn on, you can send orders to individual teammates, which is nice. The spotting system is back like the old games, where you have a spotted command.

Also, some of the achievements you can earn include pins for rewards within an individual round, and insignias for a lifetime of stats. There are 40 pins and 40 insignias, as well as 50 ranks, incorporating 1943's bronze, silver, gold system. Also, there is 228 stars to collect to show which weapons you're good with and which weapons you're not.

There is a total of four game modes. So far, Rush and Conquest are the only ones known. Two more are available, and are known to be extremely squad based, so more tactical action. DICE hasn't released much information about them, but I guess we can wait.

Vehicles have been given a boost too. Four new vehicles are being introduced: the UH-60 Blackhawk transport helicopter. It has room for one pilot, two gunners armed with miniguns, and two passengers. With this setup, and the new chipping away of cover, the minigun itself can topple a building. The BMD-AA is a light tank also equipped with an AA gun to take care of aircraft, so there's already a counter, and a fun tool, for the UH-60. There's a small quad ATV much like Halo 3's Mongoose. A waterborne equivalent of it is also available, a small patrol boat, I assume. But no planes, so I'm guessing PC gamers probably won't buy it because its not the old Battlefield anymore. But deep inside, it really is.

If by core game play you mean you go around and shoot people then yes your right but that's also the point of any FPS. BC2 has alot more features than any BF game that has come before it, some features are the same but the ones that are have been changed in some way shape or form. If thats the only excuse you have then fine, you can leave now.

nm, it just loaded. seems like the load time is at least 4 times as long as it was pre patch though.

Maybe because they are adding more servers now.

Also I just read, they changed it so the horn only sounds twice when you are about to lose in conquest. I wonder how many other undocumented changes there are?
