One other thing I was wondering, how do you get the secondary fire mode for vehicles? Is it one of the vehicle unlocks? I seemed to have it once with the UAV shooting machine guns but not anymore. Is the rocket launcher the secondary weapon on the B3A3?

It was one of the Limited Edition unlocks. Its the last Vehicle Spec, to the right, bottom. Click it and the description at the top says "V Alt W", I think.

Is there any way to turn off the aim toggle? I can not adjust to this at all. I would rather just hold to aim

No. Can't turn off aim down sight toggle. (Similarly, can't turn ON Crouch Toggle.) PITA. I think we will get these options in a patch, some day.

seems true of every game that I've played so far.

none on port valdez and valparaiso that i can think of off the top of my head.

On Port Valdez, the MCOM defenders get vehicles at the second and third bases. Both a Bradley (2nd & 3rd), and an Apache (3rd base).

It's not true across the board, as you suggested. First off, it makes sense for the attackers to get vehicles since they need to get from their spawn to the objectives. Defenders get ample anti-vehicle emplacements (use them - they're very effective) and, in some cases, vehicles of their own.

Take Arica Harbor, for instance. At several stages, the defenders get vehicles. At the beginning they get a TON. On Isla Inocentes, they get a freaking chopper in the last stage, and if I'm not mistaken a tank (or APC maybe) in the second to last stage. I'm also pretty sure they get vehicles once or twice in Port Valdez. Head-to-head vehicle battles at the first (or second?) stage on PV are pretty common early on. They get a chopper there, too.

Selective memory = bad

Tell me you AT LEAST read through the first 2500 messages? Why should we help you if you're not going to put forth any effort?

OK, OK.

IIRC, in BF1942, the Allies were always blue tags, and the axis were red tags. You you had to pay attention to what color you were and shoot the other color. Since BF2, no matter what side you are on, you always see your team as blue tags, and red tags are always the enemy. Green tags means that person is in your squad. These colors are used in the icons you see over players heads, and in the minimap.

Class gadgets are in your weapon slots, directly accessible from the 3 and 4 keys. For instance, if you are a medic and have them unlocked, the defibrillators will come up if you hit 3 (revive dead teammates), and a Health Pack will come up if you hit 4 (heal wounded teammates).
If you have enough previous Battlefield games registered on the Battlefield veterans site (two?), the basic class gadgets should already be unlocked for you from the beginning (if they have worked out all the bugs!). Otherwise, you will unlock the class gadgets by playing the class.

On the server list, there is a drop down menu icon to the immediate right of the server name. Add Favorite is an option there. Often, if you try to add a favorite from the full server list, it just sits there clocking and doesn't add the favorite. If you use the server name filter (above the filter checkboxes) to shorten the number of servers on the list (ie, put [ATOT] there), it should work very quickly.

Oh, and watch this...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcZ3wXF3r14 (the Q button is the default spotting button on the PC)

Also, reviewing the OP ("the FAQ") might be beneficial.

That's all I have time for now...

very helpful, thx. Fucking Q key.

then how would i have been able to use it when i don't have it?

It seems to me if you take over from someone that had it, the perk lets you use it. I guess it sticks with the vehicle. Same thing happened to me with the UAV and a few tanks before I had the unlock.

Why not hop on the ATOT server one night and see how it goes there? We at least have PB streaming.

haha...ATOT server amplifies all the things he doesn't like, because like 60-70% are level 20+. Half the time I'm like 30:15, the other half 15:30. In this kind of game even if you are good you are not always going to have a great k:d ratio...too many ways to die. You can be doing the right things by not standing still, then stop for a second to burst fire someone who doesnt see you, then someone else shoots you who was hiding in a bush. I dont know how many times I was running somewhere with my squad, and I'm the only one the level 33 sniper shoots at. Sh*t happens.

That's why I wouldn't stay on the emplacements too long. If you see a tank coming, get on the rocket launcher, fire 2-3 rockets, than leave before the snipers realize you're there and lock on. Definitely don't sit on it and wait for a tank to come.

Now I know you're trolling. There's no way you can't see the difference between the default (quite "zoomed in") and 95 (extremely wide).

It was night and day between stock and 95 when I changed it. Hell it took me a few hours to even get used to the 95.

Ugh Spring Break.. no BC2 =(

I don't think they stick with the vehicle, but they do stack with gunners/passengers. That is, if the driver has the "extra armor" spec and the gunner has the "alt fire" spec, while they're both in the tank the tank will have both. That's one way a driver who hasn't unlocked the alt fire spec can notice having alt fire w/ the cannon.

Yes if one person has it, everyone in the vehicle gets it.

i'm not trolling, i'm completely serious.
Then I don't know what to tell you, the difference is blatantly obvious. Maybe you need your eyes checked (not try to be a dick, seriously).

For comparison, here are two screenshots, one at default FOV and the other at 95. These are taken from exactly the same position.
95:

55 (default):

The difference is even more striking in motion.
