The AT Battlefield Bad Company 2 F.A.Q.

I just went to the Battlefield Veterans site to unlock the M1, I put in my serial number for both BF1942 and BF: Vietnam and it says my serials have already been used. Both games were bought new and i've never given out the #'s. Any idea if I can work around this?

I had to email them and they show up now on veterans but not in my # yet

also I had the M1 yesterday, and not today.

it will take a week or so more to get most of the kinks out.

its already better most of the time than mw2 imo, and I really love rush.

and hardcore

but hardcore is uber recon fest because its too easy to murder everyone with the sniper rifles in it

read earlier in this thread that FOV max was 200. I'm pretty sure it's more around 115 (which is what I will likely be playing at). wasn't seeing a difference from 115 to 200.

To me it doesn't look much better than the beta. I was expecting more.

I get much better FPS than I did in the beta. I'm also able to run with everything on. In the beta I had to run shadows on medium and HABO or whatever it is off. Now eveything is on and on full and get 50-60 fps.

Well, our server is up and rock solid stable. It's going to remain conquest for the weekend. I had to reboot it earlier because of a stat issue. It was full at the time and hasn't quite filled up since. I'm confident it will though

I keep manually updating by downloading PB, but when I open it and add BC2 as a game it doesn't work, nor does PB show up in my list of programs. It's like i can open the new PB, but not fully install it of that makes any sense.

For those of you guys looking for more people to add as friends. I'm Sokarius and my friend (chocobar) is bananacat.

I'm having problems adding people as friends, adding servers as favorites and I don't see any pings in the server browser at all. All the pings are "-" but when I sort by ping and join the top servers I get a good connection though so it's possible that it's just a display bug in the server browser?

Did you point it to the steamapp folder? Unless you didnt get it from steam.

Got the red dot for my Engineer class and it makes long range fire a lot easier. Rush is way better paced than conquest I think. Constant fighting rather than small skirmishes at points.

Get it! Its funny because the game its self is fine for the most part its just EA's side of thing that can't handle it. Really though once you get a few servers bookmarked that you know don't have connection problems your good to go. I have about 10 myself and thats what i've been playing on since launch.

I don't understand why these dumbass companies can't make demos. Are they afraid that if people actually get to try it out, they'll might find out the game is garbage? Do they just prefer to hope that people on the fence just go out and buy it anyway?

I mean, I did try the PS3 demo for a map or 2, but playing FPS games on the console sucks ass as I can't aim without looking like I'm having a seizure. It's just not the same.

i played africa harbor WAY too many times on it, and I loathe that map, I am apparantly horrible at it

I tried it on the PS3 first as well and that hooked me because the game play was tight, the maps seemed like the perfect size, I wasn't getting my ass kicked by vehicles while playing on foot and I wasn't dieing in one shot which I absolutely can't stand. Just like you I can't play a FPS on my console to save my life so it's refreshing to know the experience is pretty much the same on the PC.

The bottom line with this game is it's awesome, but currently has some connection issues and PB issues for some people. If you don't mind dealing with those issues then buy it, if you do then wait a week or so. I myself have had the issue where I can't find any servers or just can't connect. Sometimes restarting Steam fixes that and sometimes I just flat out can't play.

Thanks to everyone for the shooting tips So far taking it easy on the trigger and shooting in bursts have got me on the positive side of the K/D ratio and I've even taken a few down at long range or at the very least taken them down to low health.

Thanks for the info. I was able to put in my BF2 info and unlock it, I have no idea how I remembered it since its been years since I last played it. It gave me the M1 when I look under the weapons and gadgets section but when I get in the game it doesn't show up. Guess I'll just wait till EA gets sorted out.

I have been having a fair bit of issues. If i get a message like that I quit the game and reload it. Took me 4 tries but I was finally able to join.

I have no evidence to this but I think I have a greater likely hood of being able to join a game if I right click and run as Admin

I noticed something interesting. I joined at the end of the map was killed and then revived. The round ended about 45 seconds later and I still had 1 death. I would have thought the revive would prevent it from showing as a death

The assault class is not the assault class until you get the AN-94.

That gun is just silly.
