I know what lag is... I know that when I fire my noob tube and see the explosion go off and then see the keep running like 7 more feet and then die... I know that's lag. This game lags on a whole new level even though my "ping" in the server browser might be 30-60.. It's much much higher in the game.

find a server that doesn't lag

in beta, I always got packet loss (warping players) or lag playing on the San Jose ArtOfWar servers, but rarely ran into packet loss or lag on other servers.

if you're talking about hit registration lag, then I'd probably agree with you there. I seem to be experiencing better hit detection than beta, but there seems to be some sort of lag for the hit to actually register with the server.

Yup on the ratio. When I play assault, I can get a huge amount of kills. When I play on assault with a medic backing me up, its ridiculous. But when im playing a medic, i dont gun it, I focus on reviving and healing as much as I can. My K/D can be 0/10 for all I care but my points might be 5000.

recently had a round as attackers on the jungle rush map

had a squad mate who played most of it as Assault (he changed to medic when the team was pushing to the last 2 objectives). he ended up with around a 55/28 K/D ratio and 4470 combat points. I played medic the entire round and had a 16/18 K/D ratio and 4400 combat points. I revived and medic packed my ass off that round.

I haven't been able to get a decent game in since Friday morning.

Disconnects, full servers (even though the server browser says 22/32 or something), PB Init issues, EA Online can't connect, etc.

Then I remember, this is battlefield. Battlefield always ships broken or marred by stupid random issues, and BC2 is no exception.

Edit: And you'd think with all the betas and demos this game has had, that basic connectivity issues would've been fixed.

I just recently boot up BF2 again (haven't in over a year), and was in shock how well the server browser worked.

It's funny too because I had zero problems getting a game going in the Beta. It's like we traded better textures and more maps for the ability to actually play the game

New Battlefield Blog Post: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Server Update (2010-03-07)

After optimizations and restarts yesterday, we had been stable across all platforms. Unfortunately, we encountered another outage at approximately 9:30 AM PST today.

- X360 was severely impacted, and the service is being restarted. It should be back online and we are monitoring closely.
- PC had an outage, but the service is offline currently and the service is being restarted. It should be back online and we are monitoring closely. We will then start checking the quality of the customer experience to determine possible next steps.
- PS3 appeared to have a brief outage, but has quickly recovered and the services is functioning properly at this time.

All teams are actively engaged in diagnosis and remediation. We are adding additional services to alleviate load. Despite having a major infrastructure in place, the peak traffic this weekend has been huge, 400% higher than any other Battlefield's peak simultaneous users. The teams will continue to monitor the services closely. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and will provide further updates on the latest developments as they are relevant.

I enjoy playing Engineer more often than other classes. I can get headshots pretty easily and kill most people. Plus I can heal vehicles for tons of points and take out enemy tanks. I haven't had a big problem with snipers. Just find out where they are and sneak around and take them out or I go recon for a little bit and f them up and they find a new hiding spot.

I reinstalled the stupid thing and I still get PB INIT failures and I can't join the majority of the servers I've tried... They just stall out. No kick, no "it's full," no nothing... It's just, "Please wait..." then I am back at the list and no message... Then I get into one and 20 seconds later, "PB INIT FAILURE: GO FUCK YOURSELF. WE GOT YOUR MONEY, NOW GO DIAF."

Yep engineer is the best. Follow a tank around for massive amounts of easy repair points plus you have an anti tank weapon. There is nothing I hate more than running into a situation you can't deal with and the engineer can do everything except revive teammates.
