EA = Down
ATOT TB Up but EA has to be up also.
Nm, looks like it just went down again.
I am about the same, switched from 8800gts to a 5850...I wonder why that is

God, I am so fucking sick of DICE/EA, this is bull shit.
Is it just me or is there little to no splash damage in this game?
Tanks
RPG
UAV
Helicopter rockets
You almost have to hit an enemy dead on or else they wont die.
The UAV is the worst; long reload times, impossible to hit anything, can be shot down with a LMG and on top of all that, there is barely any splash damage. I fire at a small shack with a couple guys inside. The explosion is enough to practically destroy the shack but the guys just get injured and run away. Its like the only way to ever kill anyone with that stupid thing is if they are AFK.
I'm upgrading this to Blue Whale shit. I have now had58 crashes in23 minutes. Working on #9 now...He doesn't really mean to hit me, he just gets angry sometimes... We're all victims of EA/Dice's abuse... they hit us, and we keep coming back.
And where IS EA during this fustercluck, btw? No twitter/blog/forum post, at all.
Edit:
Why does it taunt me? Why?
I'm finally able to connect to a server. It loads. Its about to show me my loadout screen. Its black right now. Cool, it'll show me my loadout in a few seconds. Please. Please god, I need this like crack. No. No, don't do what you're thinking. DO NOT CRASH. DO NOT FLIPPING--
What's the alternative though, CoD xxx/MW xxx ?
Anyone else having the problem of when searching for a server it just drops you to the desktop totally closing the game out? Was playing earlier with no problems, now I can't find a server, and when I got into one through my favs list real quick it DC'd me.
First issues I've had with the game thus far.

This is a small update for a bug that was found the same day that we released the previous patch.
Changes:
• Server browser downloads 100 entries instead of 500 in a chunk – this makes the “Cancel” button more responsive
• Fixed crash during server browser refresh
• Low-level networking library switched back to the optimized version (the game client was temporarily running with one that had more debugging logic in it)
• Localization fixes in the scoreboard
First off, I presume that the OP is using the non-Steam version of the game.
Due to some reason, the updater isn't finding the update and therefore you letting you into the game using the original (515195) version of the game. You need to be on version 519874 or later in order to see any servers. (They speak a newer network protocol.)
So the question here is, why is the updater unable to find any updates?
The updater (BFBC2Updater.exe) will try to download the following file: http://easo.ea.com/easo/editorial/BF/2010/BFBC2/config/PC/version
If it fails, then it will assume that you don't have any Internet connection and the updater will then silently launch the currently installed game version instead.
If it succeeded with this, then you would get a dialog saying, "you have version X, and version Y is available, update?"
So why is BFBC2Updater.exe unable to access a file via HTTP? It's difficult to say why precisely. One good guess is that you have firewall software that is blocking BFBC2Updater.exe from going onto the internet at all. Is that the case?
JoeGrant said:Two issues are being constantly raised as "bugs" that I would like to bring some clarity to.
These are design issues regarding VOIP after death and Points after death.
VOIP after death.
We found occurrences of people running into enemy areas, dying intentionally and using VOIP to notify their team of where the enemy was located. As a result we turned this off in game. It is still possible to do this using external VOIP (or even other real world communcation systems). In this game, Dead Men cant talk.
Points after death.
We intentionally removed "the suicide bomber". Loading vehicles with C4 and driving them into packed enemy locations to gain points when you die was something we looked at for some time. The whole human controlled guided missile system could be used to great effect, especially when bringing in air vehicles, C4 and destruction. Therefore we removed the points gained by this type of "misadventure" - it includes a "look what you could have won" points tally. We realise people who die bravely fighting to the end also suffer a points loss at this point but it is difficult to separate the two in the current system.
