Exactly, we have to wait until winter for 4 new maps? I wish they'd release some tools so that the mod community could make some new maps. I know with BF1942 the mods and community made maps were some of my favourites.

That's a good point. I remember spending more time in BF1942 playing Desert Combat than the original multiplayer.

I've racked up about 2.5 days playtime on BC2 now, and I'm feeling pretty burned out on the current maps. Most notably the rush maps, due to their often linear nature I'm seeing people fighting over the same choke points every time. In BF2 and 2142 at least the maps were so open that this wasn't often the case, it gave their small map sets more longevity.

It's not quite as bad as playing counterstrike de_dust endlessly though!

the other team had a few very effective recon that I was working against, quite well obviously

I had 2 of them lined up for a mortar stike and this douche kept running and jumping in front of me so I couldnt do anything then I got smoked bu the guys I was trying to MS.

he started to do it again, and its HC, so put a round in his face

then he started to crybaby about it. so I did it again.....3 more times.....

I felt a little douchtastic about it, but dont assume because at some point in the game I in a recon outfit as meaning I just sit back and snipe

yeah I would a little more 'excited' if it was like, august or september

they should get that out before Medal of Honor and COD launch if they want to keep people from defecting...........

its def about time for actual new maps.

One other nice sidenote when using a slug shotty as a sniper rifle... they don't leave vapor trails to trace back to you either.

Nah it was the M24. I don't have the M95 yet. I rarely play as Recon, but since I've almost ran out of things to unlock, I've started sniping as well.

Just got this game today. Why did I wait so long? lmao.

But I've come to a conclusion. My 8800GT is no longer capable, and I will need to upgrade it immediately. Any suggestions $150-$250?

Ha, ha, this happened to like half the people on this forum. I agree re: 5770 or 5850, at $150 or $280, respectively.

5770 will be 50% faster than 8800gt, 5850 will be 100% faster.

I finally got some quality time with the CG today after being a victim so many times. There is no range where this thing isn't deadly. Just shoot in the general direction and bob out of the way and you are almost guaranteed to see the "killed an enemy" message. Even sniping is effective. Aim for a spotted enemy and even shoot through trees..if you don't kill them you at least get some splash damage. Totally insane. I got 21 kills with it in one rush game lol...well ok that did include 6 peeps I killed via destruction 2.0 but still it was crazy. Finished the session with a 1.5 K/D ratio with very little effort..now I know why the K/D ratios don't mean much when you have the CG to stat pad.

lol dunno how I deleted the 1055T by accident. Thanks for the suggestions yall, until I get a new card I've just put shadow levels to low, texture detail to medium, and HBOA to off. I also overclocked the 8800GT a little to help.

So far this game is hard in the beginning since I don't have much upgrades like armor. But it's addicting.

That is one thing I don't like, the starting weapons are nowhere near as good as the later unlocked ones. The first assault rifle is terrible, but they get better. The SCAR (second engineer SMG), however, is actually really good. I used that up until I got the UMP. All LMGs until the M60 are worthless, but once you unlock the pads you level that class up quick. Even the sniper rifles aren't very good. I still use the M24 because the ones I've unlocked so far are terrible.

Nothing is so unbalanced it is really unfair, just annoying people have much better weapon kits than you. It is a pretty easy task unlocked most of your favorite class if you stick with it.

In one game I got owned so badly, I think I went 0-11 at one point, and ended at 3-19 or something really embarrassing, lmao. But that was because I was trying to use the P2000 or whatever it's named. Once I went back to the starting assault rifle I did ok again.

I think you're referring to the F2000, which is far and away the worst-handling of all the assault weapons. If you have that, however, you should also have the XM8, which is much better.

I am not sure what this knife bug is either. I have had a few instances where I knifed a guy 3 times in the back only to have him turn around and shoot me with his sniper rifle in the chest and I died. I've been told as an Engi just use the repair gun.


I just wish they'd fix the "sometimes when a player spawns they are invincible for a few seconds" crap. I've unloaded a around half a clip of M60 into a guy just standing there at point blank and got no hits or anything. He then promptly shot me once and I died.
