it still very easy to rape with even with no red dot.

I got my gold star, all the kills, in a few sessions with no red dot


but yeah, its silly its not fixed again.

I dont think support for BC2 is getting anything but worse for the next year

Occasionally, such as tonight, when I log on I get incredible lag, starting from the server browser screen. It moves into teh game as well, any server. Unplayable lag on any server, and stays so for the night.
Is this some kind of EA main hub server issue or something?

anyone else think DX11 is worth it for soft shadows alone? going back to DX10 shadows, i couldn't stand it.

I wouldn't know. I'm running DX10 and I have all particle effects missing. I don't see smoke, blood, or dirt flying up when explosions happen. No idea what's causing it.

I could be wrong, but I remember going to DX11 looked exactly the same to me as DX10 but I got noticeably less FPS.

pretty much, except soft shadows which are noticeable improvement over dx10 shadows.

Um, how exactly do you purposely turn off smoke lol? That sounds like cheating to me, unless it just happens and you don't know why which is just an innocent glitch.

Or do you mean you turn off in the graphics settings all of the bells and whistles that add cool effects but make it harder to see targets?

dx9 =/= cheating. i run dx9 just because i play better.


thats like people in source running dx7 to see through smoke, its not cheating some people just don't have good computers

And you see the enemies behin dit? that explains why I get shot from people often, that i thought can impossibly see me... so an offical wallhack.

unless you're playing HC mode its more likely you've been 3D spotted or a good player was able to guesstimate your position rather than for someone to have been exploiting

I thought smoke removes all spotting? at least thats what the manual says never really checkedit myself.

sure, if you're constantly pumping out smoke grenades and sitting in the middle of that smoke you won't be "spotted", but you can always be respotted if you're not always in the smoke

and if your opposing team isn't completely retarded they should know that smoke grenades likely mean someone on your team is probably trying to advance through the smoke

heck, I'll often blindly fire some shots through the smoke as I fish for hit-reg marks and then play off of any successful "bites" to try and score a kill

so as I said before, whether you've been spotted, playing against clever and/or just flat out lucky players, or even motion sensors (something I didn't bring up before) its far more likely its one of those than for it to be someone exploiting (either intentionally or not). Of course that's not to say people don't exploit. Just about every day I run into an obvious aimbotter, so I wouldn't be surprised if less malicious exploits are just as rampant, but that doesn't mean everyone who kills you through a wall or smoke is exploiting

My router is a D-Link DIR655. I try to play on servers with less than a 125 ping.

I try not to go over 60, I get near 100 when I play with some of these fools on here from one of the coasts occasionally

In all fairness 125 is playable. I don't think I've *ever* had a ping of 60 (and no, I don't live in the boonies). 80's is the lowest I've ever had and I average 90.

gah, this game can be such BS sometimes...

I found an enemy running away from me, so I figure, eh easy kill. I have the M4 equiped with a full mag, so I unload on him (he was close enough that it should have been impossible to miss), I knew I was hitting him since my crosshair had the 'X' symbol from when you hit someone for the entire duration that I was firing.

He survives. I switch to my pistol, and before it comes up, hes able to spin around, shoot me ONCE with his pistol, and I die (I was at full health).

I swear, I don't understand this shit sometimes.

lol. I laugh when I see people using full auto at any range other than CQC. It definitely took me some time to get used to though. BC2 is the first game I've ever played that took recoil so seriously. I would say the guns take quite a bit more time to master than say CS Source for example (disregarding bullet physics, even).

Thing is, i was in CQC; any closer and i wouldve meleed him instead.
