Hah, I run circles around people all day on my rogue. It's funny to do it to classes like druids that keep trying to get a backstab-esque (I forget their backstab-esque move name... my druid's only 27 ) move off and they keep failing.
This is why feral druids are worthless at pvp. That player didn't suck, he was experiencing the "feral range bug". Even though he was right on top of you, when he tried to use his attacks he would get the error "out of range". Basically, druids can not melee moving targets, ever. It has something to do with our attack range, our model shape, and lag. But basically you could just poison/dot/whatever a feral druid and just run straight away from him and he would never kill you. Even though druids move 20% faster (outdoors only), it doesn't help because moving targets are invulnerable to us.
It's not as bad as you make it sound but there definitely is a bug with cat form range. I was feral for a little more than a year, and I ran into this problem a lot although I dealt with it pretty well. Landing shreds on a moving target is easiest if you run toward them, jump, and turn around mid air then shred. I reached 1900 in a 3v3 season one as a feral, but eventually got frustrated because they are just so terrible in arena pvp. Respecced resto and I'm sitting on a 2100 rated 3v3 with a disc priest and warrior right now.
