This is why feral druids are worthless at pvp. That player didn't suck, he was experiencing the "feral range bug". Even though he was right on top of you, when he tried to use his attacks he would get the error "out of range". Basically, druids can not melee moving targets, ever. It has something to do with our attack range, our model shape, and lag. But basically you could just poison/dot/whatever a feral druid and just run straight away from him and he would never kill you. Even though druids move 20% faster (outdoors only), it doesn't help because moving targets are invulnerable to us.

It's not as bad as you make it sound but there definitely is a bug with cat form range. I was feral for a little more than a year, and I ran into this problem a lot although I dealt with it pretty well. Landing shreds on a moving target is easiest if you run toward them, jump, and turn around mid air then shred. I reached 1900 in a 3v3 season one as a feral, but eventually got frustrated because they are just so terrible in arena pvp. Respecced resto and I'm sitting on a 2100 rated 3v3 with a disc priest and warrior right now.

Lifetime Honorable Kills: 46429

That's nothing compared to the world's first High Warlord without the help of PREMADES, pre-BC/battlegroup days: http://www.wowarmory.com/chara...chondrius&n=Deathmaker
Lifetime Honorable Kills: 408373

He hit 250k kills when he finally touched rank 14 without the help of premades. I still remember that week... but I think he did finally get help on the week before he touched high warlord. All the top horde players decided to let him get to that point at that time.

Not as challenging if you're Horde. Any Alliance that could PUG their way to GM is much more of an accomplishment at that period. I was only able to PUG my way to R10 before I literally couldn't even open the game anymore. Only reason I couldn't get into the team was that I took standing 16 when I was only R3 . The only Alliance PVP team at that time didn't like that too much . For me to do that much, I played anywhere between 8-10 hours of only PVP a day. I practically lived in Alterac Valley and marked my calendars when it'd be AV weekend. Of course at this time, you could do premade AVs without any funky add-ons .

This was before battlegroups and the BG holidays. When each server PVP was dependent on its own horde:alliance ratio. If I recall, tich was pretty imbalanced towards alliance 2 years ago. Now it's completely horde dominated. This guy grind his way to R14 just by doing AV (hence the 400k kills) since WSG and AB was dominated by premades that scouted out the game for PUGs.

That's when I did it too and for us, if you were in Horde PUGs you were at least better off because a Horde PUG beat an Alliance PUG and sometimes even some premades. So being in an alliance PUG was the worst way . I used AV a lot too for mine and that's how I made 350,000 honor in one week (the week I took standing 16).

350K a week is weak sauce, AV weekends id pull that in 1 day and pull 1.5 mill for the week

The highest I recall anyone ever making on Lightning's Blade was somewhere around 900 thousand. My 350 thousand was actually decent and I believe that week... the highest was around 550 thousand.

Also, AV weekends were plagued with large groups from the Horde working together... you didn't always win . I remember fighting against them quite vividly... it was actually kind of fun in a (losing) way.

EDIT: I should also add that Horde numbers were about 2x ours.

back in the day Ali on my server before Xrealm BGs used to win AV 80% of the time in under 30 min

this was before any of the changes were made, when ALL the guards were in there and all those random NPCs in the Field of Strief and such, used to avg 25 min wins, fastest i saw was 18, which is pretty amazing as there were a million NPCs to kill

The honor points follow a different system now. The scale is much different, old numbers won't match up to new ones.

I made rank 12 by playing practically "all day" and I was struggling at the end of it. I dunno how rank 14s did it for so many weeks in a row.

At any rate, I wanted to ask you people how much RAM you're running because I'm @ 1gb and I see shattrath as a slideshow sometimes. Alt-tabbing in and out is also painfully slow. Do you guys see a difference with 2gb? Or is 1gb pretty smooth for you already?

I have 2gb and the lowest I get in Shat is about 25fps. That's with everything cranked at 1600x1200.

2GB, 7600GT, Opty Dual Core 160 Stock i get around 15-20 DPS in shat 1680*1024 max settings

im gonna upgrade soon to a C2D with 4 Gigs of ram and a 8800

and Rh71 we got to rank 14 doing just that but doing it with a team so it was 100x easier, getting to 12 wasent that hard with premades, 12-14 kinda sucked ass tho, took 5 weeks from 12-14, 3 from 13-14 and that was taking standing 1 or 2 each week, i woudl have hit it 1 week sooner then i did but soem asshole botter took standing 1 so i had to bust as on my final week or i was never gonna hit it

1680x1050 rez with 4gb of RAM, Q6600 CPU at stock speeds and an 8800GTS gives me about 45-50 fps in Shatt with all settings maxed.
