So im a 70 combat rogue in all epics (kara + gruul). Right now I'm using the emerald ripper in offhand (1.8 speed) and malcazeen in main hand. I know the emerald ripper is bad in offhand for my spec due to the speed. I am constrained on play time right now. What would be quicker to get... the 50 heroic badge dagger (sunblade... or something), or go for the S1 offhand from doing BGs? i dont want to respec, but would like which ever dagger would be quicker... any suggestions on which and how to do it more effeciently?

At any rate, I wanted to ask you people how much RAM you're running because I'm @ 1gb and I see shattrath as a slideshow sometimes. Alt-tabbing in and out is also painfully slow. Do you guys see a difference with 2gb? Or is 1gb pretty smooth for you already?

Unless you are running Vista, 1 gb should be fine. 2 GB is recommended. However, the real difference will be achieved by upgrading your video card. Second to that would be your processor. I am running 7800GT, 4600 duel core AMD processor, and 2 GB of RAM and I get about 15-20 FPS in shat.

Woo!! Finally hit 1850 in 2v2 with my pally. After 3 weekends of waking up at 9:00 am to queue, it finally happened. lol, I'm such an eNerd. I'm so pumped to get the S3 mace. What a huge ass upgrade it will be over Deep Thunder.

We got kinda lucky with our matches on the morning we reached 1850:

--Started off at 1760 with two matches against Rogue/Mage (fire -- lol?). Beat them. Rogue/Mage (frost) is probably our most unwinnable matchup.

--Then played two matches against Warrior/Druid and we won (luckily pally/warrior owns this combo; we'd be stuck in the 1600s if we couldn't beat this combo the 50 times we've played them)

--Then played a Warlock/Druid three games in a row, went 1-2. Very tough matchup to win. Everything has to go perfectly.

So at this point we're 5-2, sitting just over 1800. We've hit this mark a few times throughout the season only to then face like mage/mage or some stupid team that we have 10% chance of winning.

--As luck would have it, our next 5 games were all against Rogue/Warlock (same team all 5 times). This match is actually rather tough, but certainly winnable. Basically their rogue (with double legendary blades -- gg 450 haste proc) tries to tie me up, while I go for the lock. I have to control the fears or it's over. My pummel missed during the one game we lost, but ended up 4-1 against them. 1858!! Such a huge relief as I was sick of waking up early on the weekend just to enjoy 1 minute queues.

highly dependent on your server/battlegroup

on Skullcrusher which is in the Ruin battlegroup horde roll ali in EOTS and AB most of the time even with pugs, AV is about 50/50, best bet is to do whatever gets you the more honor per hour, you are gonna have to find out what that is, yes do the daily unless its WSG, thats just as waste of time unless you have a premade

Skullcrusher horde has now become famous for AV premades, 600 honor in 15 min FTW

Dude you gotta be kidding me. I'm in Ruin and pug vs. pug horde win ~25-30% of AV and ~50-60% of the other battlegrounds. I'm not taking wild guesses, I'm going by my HonorFu addon, which tallies win/losses. I'm horde (instant queues) so by triple-queueing I never face alliance premades, which would throw off my numbers. Ruin horde are for the most part some of the worst players I've ever seen, across three different battlegroups. In Vengeance, back before I transferred, we (horde) won 80-90%+ of ab/wsg/eots. They were dominant wins too; 5cap abs, 4cap eots, <10 minute 3-0 wsg wins. In pugs.

Seriously though, Ruin is the joke of battlegroups. If you read the official forums much (I know, I know) pretty much everyone agrees.

Rig's in sig, I drop as low as 15 in shatt if I'm at the AV battlemaster and a preform is queueing up, but generally stay 20-25. WoW is a CPU hog, it's much more demanding on your CPU than most games you're probably used to (FPSs).

bad luck? because i win more then i lose, prob has a lot to do with when we play BGs, my honorfu has AV at 50/50 roughly if i disscount the premades we run, and AB/EOTS are over 80%

i used to be on Warsong, Same battlegroup and honestly i went 4 weeks without losing a EOTS at one point PUGvPUG

I run an Intel C2Q 6600, 4GB OCZ Platinum DDR2-800 with an 8800GTX and I can play two characters at once in Shattrath. WoW itself takes up around 550MB of ram per instance (so around 1.1GB of RAM just for two WoW's) on my PC. I'm also running Vista (Ultimate) with no services turned off. At 1680x1050, I get anywhere between 35 and 60 FPS (V-Sync is enabled~) with all settings maxed and AA at 1x. Although I think my video card is slowly slipping into the abyss that is bad engineering and I've got an 8800GT here to replace it until eVGA lovingly replaces it .

I agree with this... except I push swords over maces or fists. Maces especially....

Tier 6 is best just look at the stats

and you need to raid for it

T4 is from Kara, Grulls and Mag
T5 is SSC and The Eye
T6 is Hyjal and Black Temple

Also, I'm not even talking PVP at all. I'm talking strictly PVE as the dude is combat daggers .

Tier 1 through Tier 3 is all level 60 gear found in:

Tier 1: Molten Core (aka Molten Bore)
Tier 2: Blackwing Lair, Onyxia's Lair and Molten Core (Ragnaros only)
Tier 3: The Dread Citadel - Naxxramas

It looks like we got you hooked on the idea of getting "pimped out" in game .

maces get 6% crit damage bonus and you can stun trash and yes that helps, that and 2 of the high end raiding maces are better then anything other then the legendarys of illidan

rod of the sunking and Syphon of the Nathrezim as well as Dragonstrike are better then any sword other then S3 or illidans legendarys in terms of pure DPS

actually Syphon and Dragonstrike are better then S3 with Rod right behind, but that proc is amazing

Edit
Answer me this... will the extra attack from sword specialty proc Combat Potency?

the answer to that is NO, combat potency procs off OFF HAND attacks, all sword spec procs and WF procs trigger a MH attack, no Combat potency cant proc off them, the only thing that effects CP is the offhand speed, and there are plenty of fast offhand maces as well as swords

Gonna have to agree with Anubis here. I played on Warsong pre-BC in the Ruin battlegroup and we used to win 75-80% of all battlegrounds not called AV. And since moving to Skullcrusher I have yet to lose a AB and AV is probally 50/50, if we defend we win hands down.

I'd give exact numbers, but I recently redid my UI and didn't think to save the HonorFu savedvariables. I only have probably 20-30 AB/WSG results, ~5 eots, and my AVs are all off because I spent AV weekend doing massive amounts of preforms

I will admit though, playing as horde in Vengeance spoiled me. I unwittingly transferred from one of the best horde groups to one of the worst, figuring that they were all the same. My only concern was my individual server, I just thought that while individual servers might vary, a conglomeration of a random 20 would not -- I was wrong. We do win more than we lose, but not by much.

It wasn't so much the win % though, although it was better in vengeance - it was how well horde played. It's difficult to quantify as it consists of basically a lot of little things, but zerging is a big one. In Vengeance, horde simply didn't do it. In Ruin, in most pugs 90% of the team is in the same spot killing 1-2 alliance trying their hardest for the HK and completely ignoring any objectives like flags... while the alliance controls over half the map. Then in the inevitable loss, the player with the best gear / most class/spec instant casts (eg. the one with the most killing blows) tells everyone else that they suck, usually in 3rd grade English or below, eg. "u al suq wtf ur mom loelz"). I find it really disheartening.

Actually in the very high end game, combat swords is the best spec.

Builds: Combat Swords is the best PVE DPS Spec. Combat Maces/Fists/Hybrid weapon and tri-spec Hemo are competitive. Combat daggers is now the worst of the combat builds. Mutilate is well behind everything else since the glancing blow changes, suffering additionally from reduced Windfury Totem benefits vs combat, and on bosses immune to poison (Void Reaver, Hydross).

The EJ forums have people who put a huge amount of math to theorycraft.
