The EJ forums have people who put a huge amount of math to theorycraft.

That is sad to hear, as I enjoy combat dagger the most. I have 4k honor now and was hoping to get the S1 offhand dagger by the weekend (9k honor) to replace my emerald ripper. How do combat swords work? right now my rotation is backstabs->SnD->Rupture (with kidney punch/eviscerate depending on mobs/boss immunities). Is backstab just replaced with sinister strike?

Please explain.

Edit: and what do you mean "Very high end game" - I'm in SSC/TK (beginning).

It's probably basicly just keeping slice and dice up, and rupture, deadly offhand windfury main and evics with extra points. I haven't played my rogue much, especially raid-wise, so I haven't gotten used to normal rogue dps rotations. It's still a lot of work for me to make sure slice and dice doesn't fall off, or rupture doesnt fall off for too long.

Windfury makes up a lot of the bonus sword spec gets over the other specs, as well as the combat sword proc itself.

I'd say it applies to you in T5 raids (as long as you get windfury totem). Very high was probably the wrong term to use, 25man raids.

Yes, I think there is. I know for sure that Activision (just merged with Blizz) is public. Stocks are super low right now and might get lower but I would say it is a great time to buy. We all know that Blizz isn't going anywhere

Is there a website where it shows all the S1 stuffs that you can buy (70 lvl stuffs)? I just start play around pvp on my hunter - got about 4k honor pts from 2 nights of play. If I know it was this fun, i would start earlier. Kills (or tried to) all hordes that I came across. My gears are suck, but I don't care. If I can take 1 down while their team kill me I am happy. So far 50% won/lost in AV, 100% lost in EoS (too much defense on Alliance side I think and not enough focus. Piecemeal attacks that never got anywhere). 1 win in WSG.

you have to think future growth though. Of course another blizzard mmorpg would be successful, but would it cannibalize it's own market. Could they really pull in a different 10 million users?

Not saying buying stock in it would be bad. But dont just say "hey, its blizz. its golden"

wowhead.com and thottbot.com are the 2 most popular item listing sites, wowhead is better IMO, just search by item name or sort through the list by part

the wow site itself has a armor set viewer so you can see them all and such

arenajunkies is good for arena stuffs

Pulling another 10 mil doesn't matter. A lot of users might switch to their new MMO but money is money as long as it is the same amount going to the same place. In addition, they will attract new users as well. The whole "cannibalize" thing going around the net on this subject is really dumb. Enough people will stick with WoW for a long time. Besides, the rate of growth in WoW has never stopped. I don't see why the rate of growth of a new MMO by them woulds top either if made just as well. That rate may not be as fast but that is fine.

As a shadow priest, specialize in shadowcloth.

The frozen shadoweave set is as good or better than many tier 5 raiding options.

Combine the frozen shadoweave with the spellstrike hood and pants and those slots are set.

http://www.wowarmory.com/chara...eet.xml?r=Thrall&n=Rdx

Here's my priest with a combination of:
- The frozen shadoweave and spellstrike sets. - chest/feet/shoulders and head/legs
- PVP honor gear - ring/wrist
- badge gear - offhand, wand, gloves
- arena gear - mainhand s2 spellblade
- karazhan gear - cloak/neck
- various other stuff (green quality shadow wrath items are great for leveling, got the halloween event caster ring) There's another good ring i swap out that's crafted, shadow damage, stamina and mana regen.

None of this stuff isnt too hard to get, if you can get into karazhan runs, and pvp a bit.

If only other classes were as easy to gear as a shadowpriest and be viable for raiding.

rogues are easy to gear I think, if you know how to play. I jumped right into kara after hitting 70 and getting keyed. Blues and Greens and did well and was geared (fairly well) in a month or so.

I might finally get my first character Kara attuned tonight. Surprisingly enough, it'll be my healer and I don't really like healing. It's so boring when half the time all I need to do is press 3 or 5 (Renew and Prayer of Mending respectively). Although I have to say... I was doing Arc last night and we got the imp as our first prisoner. That thing did a crap-ton of damage :Q! Although I think the lock should've possible thrown Curse of Tongues on him and maybe tried to use a Bash (druid tank) or something. Unfortunately if we had a warrior tank, he could've spell reflected the fireball. Darn things did around 2500 each hit and he casts it ever 2 seconds or so. I'd know... had around 2 of them hit me . The Retadin probably should've had Fire Resistance Aura on too.

5% and I always forget about that... didn't it originally not have that bonus at all and they added it in during 2.0's refresh?

You're talking gold, I'm talking silver. I don't have access to those items and neither do you.

the answer to that is NO, combat potency procs off OFF HAND attacks, all sword spec procs and WF procs trigger a MH attack, no Combat potency cant proc off them, the only thing that effects CP is the offhand speed, and there are plenty of fast offhand maces as well as swords

Either it used to or I've been confusing it with Windfury for a long time (which will proc on your off-hand, hence why you don't apply a poison on your off-hand if you're in a group with a shaman (and you're a rogue with CP)... unless you absolutely need to use two different poisons for some reason or another).

Why wouldn't you leave the poison on your main-hand and have none on your off-hand so you can allow more combat potencies to proc. Also, you switch the "off-finisher" depending on the boss and your tank. With a druid tank and mangle, rupture can do more damage depending on opponent armor.

I recommend just grabbing the add-on AtlasLoot Enhanced and using the section "PVP Rewards" > "Arena Season 1" to look at the items. If you also get the add-on called RatingBuster, you can compare the stats you gain between items (such as how much RAP, crit, mana, mana regen, etc). The best thing is, RB takes into account Aspect of the Viper, talents that provide extra RAP, etc. Like my huntard is a marksman and it lists RAP gained from Intellect and the fact that I gain 110% RAP.

Holy priest . At least our secondary set (Whitemend) requires the same type of cloth as our main set (Primal Mooncloth). Fortunately though, you can probably just trade the cloth or sell your extra shadowcloth to buy the spellcloth.

Don't waste your time. You need 350 Tailoring to get it not to mention you need to go to the Altar of Shadow in Shadowmoon Valley. Not to make it sound impossible at your level, but you may end up dying a time or two trying to get there.

EJ forum's theorycrafting link:

http://elitistjerks.com/f31

As for your poison/windfury stuff, you have it backwards. Windfury totem applies to your main hand only. (shaman are the only class who can get windfury weapon on their offhand, a shaman self-buff). You leave your mainhand free for windfury, and apply poison to your offhand.

One option for tailoring is to do the primal mooncloth quest, specialize in that, and make primal mooncloth on your timer, until you are higher level. I was able to trade for most of my shadowcloth from my stock of primal mooncloth from my tailor i had before the priest. The priest started out as primal mooncloth at level 61 or whenever--it helped raise my skill-- and as he mentioned, a moonwell is a lot easier to get to. Also the mats are cheaper, and you can usually find shadowcloth tailors who need to keep the specialization to wear their set, willing to trade for primal mooncloth to make bags. Just switch at 68 to shadowcloth or whenever you can wear your first piece of frozen shadoweave. That's when i swapped my priest from primal mooncloth to shadowcloth.

I even was able to trade extra primal mooncloth and shadowcloth to get my spellcloth pieces for my spellstrike set as well.

im not gonna quote your massive post but you are wrong or just confused on a few things

1) Windfury only applys to Mainhand wep, only procs off white attacks no more procing off spammstring and such,
2) CP is only procs from offhands and having a poision on the offhand does not matter
3) rod of the sun king droped from our first keal kill 2 days ago, and crafting dragonstrike is cake for anyone running SSC/The Eye, hell even if your not you can just buy the nethers from a farm guild
4) mace spec just used to have the 5% chance to stun before 2.0 or whenever they gave it that crit damage % increase
6) He is right swords is best but Mace/Fist are right behind it, daggers sadly do kinda suck now, if you look at Sword/Mace/Fist itemization without the legendary weps i beleive maces have the next highest DPS weps

also note about tailoring,

Primal mooncloth sells for about 2x more then shadowcloth or spellcloth, at least on every server i played on it was that way

To be fair, you can't really compare 10man karazhans which are commonly done pick-up to an organized raid able to complete ssc or tk. Nether vortexes being for sale is hit or miss depending on your server.

And the cost of the various cloth seem to differ server to server. They are about equal with spellcloth being slightly higher on my server.

Mace specialization also used to give you +mace skill until the recent changes, the added crit damage replaced it.

true, but the 2nd lvl Mace, Dragonmaw? i always forget the order is on par with the sword off Netherspite and you get the nethers for that from Heroics

I'd like the smithing to get the mace a lot better if it was one handed, and not main hand only. That really restricts how long you can use it.

And once you get the vortex weapon, you run out of upgrades. To me I'd just save the money, and arena to get s2 weapons.

I was considering the mace smith on my main (shaman) but ended up just keeping mining and herbalism. We were also done with the vortex dropping raids as a guild as well, when i swapped from resto to enhancement for raids. So i just got a s1 and s2 axe through arena and pvp until i was able to get better raid drops.
