You might also be interested to know this:

Wowhead and Thottbot both report it as shadow damage, with a 10% proc rate on it. that makes this an amazing trinket for both aff locks and shadow priests. if there's no internal cooldown(will need testing for sure), that means it'll proc alot.

This trinket plus my other damage trinket plus the proc I get from Idol of the Unseen Moon now that they are removing its CD in 2.4 will be wicked!

It drops off of Priestess Delrissa who is in the Magister's Terrace (Sunwell 5 man). My guess is that the difficulty must be on heroic, but I have not confirmed that.

I was wondering how this worked as well. I have a feeling it isn't completely random because of how frequent MT and Ramps comes up but instances like Arc and SV never seem to happen. It's probably based on popularity but I wish it were more random because it gives people an incentive to do heroics which are not normally visited. I like variety.

For a raiding warlock, with the way spell haste will be working in 2.4 (reducing global cooldown), which would you rather have:

Pantaloons of Arcane Annihilation:
+34 Stamina
+35 Intellect
Equip: Improves spell haste rating by 45 (2.85% @ L70).
Equip: Increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to 54.

vs.

Trial-Fire Trousers:
+42 Stamina
+40 Intellect
+20 spellhit
+5 spelldmg
Equip: Increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to 49.

as affliction if prib take the trial fire and put 3x 9 amage in them

privided you dont need spell hit then spellstrike http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24262 or seventh circle http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30734 would be better

you can also put 3x +4 spell hit +5 spell damage gems in the trial fire, if you arnt a tailor

^ here's the thing, I'm SL/SL arena spec'd because I found that I still do decent dmg in raids while remaining wtfpwnage in pvp. So I'm mostly affliction, not SB spam although that's all I do after dots and that's 40% of my dmg. I have ~90 spell hit right now without either of those pants. With 90 hit I'm good for trash but not for bosses. I think the jump up to 202 hit is huge, just to do bosses. I'm at 1200 spell dmg. Which direction do you think I should go - we're kara-farming & starting to do gruul's... spell hit or spell dmg? I'm assuming I should forget about the pantaloons / haste pants at this point then...

Rh you definitely want spell hit where you can get it. Your chance to hit boss level mobs with no spell hit is 83%. 12.6 spell hit rating = 1% chance to hit, up to a maximum of 202 rating (99%, which is the hard cap). 1% spell hit while under the cap effectively increases your dps by a bit more than 1%. To increase dps with spell crit by 1%, you need 22.1 rating to give 1% crit. With spell damage, it depends since it's on a sliding scale (the more dmg you have, the more dmg you need to increase your dps by 1%). However where you're at gearwise at ~1200 spellpower, it's probably in the neighborhood of 20 spellpower for a 1% increase. Blizzard budgets hit : crit : dmg as 4 : 4 : 5. You do the math... hit gets you nearly twice as much dps until you're capped. DPS on trash doesn't matter btw.

Of course... if your tank's threat sucks, then none of that matters Go easy for a bit and then shatter, is your best bet.

Just wondering how everyone who is level 70 does not have at least a full set of pvp gear,

I've played a couple hours each the past 2 days and I already almost have enough for my first gladiator peice...I'm just a little short to buy it now.

some people really hate BGs and/or are just lazy

ive been 70 for a long time and my PVP set is 2 parts of S3 and the rest S1 w/s S2 dagger and S3 honor parts, ill prob finish out this season with 4 S3 parts, but im not a big fan of arenas, didnt get any points last week dont really care

more excited about the patch and that we are 4/5 in Hyjal and 3/9 in BT

On a related subject, it seem like the fastest way for me to get some updated gear for my enh shaman was to get some season 1 gear, for enh shaman how useful is the pvp gear for pve?

When season 4 does come out, is normally alot better than the previsous season? Not sure how it works. I know when I look at the PvP broker he has armor sets for lvl 60 and 70 which I am assuming are the different season's?


How good are the PvP mounts? I was also thinking of trying for one of these instead paying for a regular mount. I am also a bloodelf and riding a giant colored chicken does not really look all that cool.

In short, since you are just starting up again, S1 arena gear is a good way to go unless you are immediately jumping into a raiding guild and even then getting the S1 is a good way to spend your time when you are not raiding.

Otherwise, it depends on what you mean by "PvE". If you are talking things like heroics then it is just fine to stick with. If you are talking the 25 mans then it is a good start but you will want to replace most of those pieces for T4 equivalent gear or better as soon as you can. The S1 arena gear is good for adding stam to your set when faced with an encounter where you would benefit from more hp than usual, but the real idea here is to be able to avoid stam gear whenever you can because that means you are able to stack more DPS or Healing gear depending on your role.

The date beginning season 4 is not confirmed.

It will offer much better gear when it is released. They are like direct tier upgrades in raiding.

PvP mounts are like other mounts and there are a lot of mounts.

It was just released on the PTR and it is a content patch. We may get lucky but don't hold your breath.
