A friend got me to start a few weeks ago, right now I have a 12 paladin and a 17 dwarf hunter. Hunting with a pet in WoW reminds me of how it was with my Shm in EQ, and I'm having a pretty good time.

Only confusing thing so far was figuring out where to train my tradeskills, I started mining and blacksmithing, and couldn't find beginner recipies anywhere. Stumbled across them eventually, but I was a bit disturbed at how long it took me.

One question - how is it determined when I can train my pet? Seems pretty random when I can add a new skill for him, all the while he is building up quite a few skill points that I can't ever use.

You can train your pet yourself via the Beast Training button in your spellbook (hit P).

You will have to go to your trainer to get the higher level skills to then pass on to your pet.

And for those saying that Marks don't drop enough - they drop like candy, anywhere from 7-15 for a hyjal or bt clear. I personally have 8 marks unused and I am glad since the int flask will be better than the mp5 one. Only thing is that the the two elixirs will be better than flasks, but with lots of wiping I suppose it'll even out.

Yea, we get about the same amount of marks per bt/hyjal run, and with some people not being able to use them, we haven't really had a shortage since the mid-SSC learning days.

At the moment, we have around 250 saved up in our guild bank.

they dont drop nearly that much for us, we get them but not even close to being able to supply a raid with them for flasks

I've most certainly been tappin' the TVs lately and they only do me twice... but when I get me a sweet RTV, I hit that thing a good 4+ times... in the span of a minute baby!

IIRC all normal veins are 2-4 and rich are 5-8

ive actually gotten 6 pings off a copper vein before which i thought was funny

After I logged off I stopped by the wow forums for a moment. Seems another nice blow up brewing on some new PTR patch notes. More blizz "fixing" arena/pvp and screwing a class or pve aspect for your reading pleasure

Eh - MMO's are constantly changing and evolving. It's pointless to complain about changes as your voice typically won't affect the outcome.

Most of the gripes usually come from players who are losing their "I win" button [gear, spells, etc].

I laugh at the complaints people post about crap that really isn't significant - they are just complaining because they are too lazy or stupid to figure out how to play the game.

I'm reading it right now trying to find some differences or some interesting things...

Resilience: Now reduces the magnitude of mana draining effects by the same amount that it reduces critical strike damage. The Tooltip has been revised to reflect this

Paladin:

Turn Undead(Rank 3):This spell has been reworked and has been renamed to ?Turn Evil?. It will now work on Demons in addition to Undead. Turn Evil is subject to diminishing returns, and lasts 10 seconds in PvP.

Holy Shock: The healing, damage, and mana cost of this spell have all been increased.

Priest:

Chastise no longer disorients the target, but now is instant cast and roots the target for 2 seconds.

Power Infusion: Infuses the target with power, increasing their spell haste by 20% for 15 seconds.

Reflective Shield: The reactive damage from this talent no longer breaks crowd control affects which break on taking damage.

Rogues:

# Improved Backstab is now called Puncturing Wounds.
# Puncturing Wounds increases your critical strike chance with Backstab by 10/20/30%, and the critical strike chance with your Mutilate ability by 5/10/15%.

Shamans:

# Totem timer icons will now show up under your player portrait when you cast totem spells. Right-clicking a totem timer icon will destroy that totem.
# Tremor Totem now pulses every 3 seconds, down from 4.
# Ghost Wolf: Cast time reduced to 2 seconds, down from 3.

Warlocks:

# Blood Pact now has a tooltip.


Arena:

o Matchmaking: If a queued player has a personal rating higher than their team rating, the matchmaking system will now use the highest personal rating of a queued member of that team for matchmaking purposes, instead of the team rating.

Alterac Valley:

+ There is now a Join as Party option.

Alchemy:

o Transmute Arcanite no longer has a cooldown.

Fishing:

Feltail fishing nodes have been changed to Brackish Mixed Schools; they now produce mostly Golden Darters and some Feltail.

Resilience will now be more powerful than before. Great...

Chastise is probably worse than before now unless you're fighting a warrior, but it can only be cast out of shadowform, so it's only limited use really.

They finally made mutilate better by giving us some more crit which the build needs quite a bit. I just hope they give us a talent reset =\.

Improved Ghost wolf = insta-cast ghost wolf now.

Players can no longer sell arena teams, make new ones and "start" at 1500 anymore since they'll be using the highest player's rating, which will be nice. I remember running into way too many sellers at 1500 that'll absolutely destroy you =\.

No more need for StinkyQueue.

Thank god Blizzard listened to my Arcanite thing... too bad I'll be done with making arcanite in a couple days and it will be worthless for me. IMO, you could make arcanite special by giving it its own cooldown... just don't make it share one with the others.

One was shammies elemetry storms (or something similar) and natures swiftness using the same cooldown timer. Another had something to do with adjust a druid hot in some way (never played a restro/pure healing spec so not exactly sure).

It just seems a tad absurd with how much effort they are now putting into balancing classes on 1v1 because of the arenas (of course this is the same group that after a year and a half declared the hero class dead and would not have anymore effort put into working it into the game). The "drinking nerf" thing is an absolute riot; really, there is enough of a conern that now drinking won't give a linear mana gain distribution but a gain more akin to a bell curve. That was something that needed to be fixed?

Lifebloom healing coefficient has been reduced.

That one? This is the shaman one that you're talking about:

Nature?s Swiftness and Elemental Mastery now share a 10 second cooldown.

We get tons as well.

man we get the shaft, we only ever have enough to giv the tanks them for flasks, about once a week there will be enough to hand them out topeople, 1 each, and even tho 1/2 the people can use them we never have enough to where people dont have to buy flasks

we flask for everything we havent downed 3 times, on progression nights ill burn 2

we do however have Hyjal trash drop epics comming out of our ears

last night we killed the first 4 bosses and had 9 trash drops

2 nethervoid cloaks ( i got mine finially)
2 healing boots - we had 2 or 3 drop last week also
1 fire neck
1 mele neck
1 mail chest the ele shaman one
and some patterns

I wonder if it'd be an interested addition to have sharding an epic from the places that can drop those tokens also "give a token". It wouldn't really fit enchanting, but it'd provide an extra bonus when you get gear that no one really wants.

I got my T6 chest on my druid this weekend, and now for whatever reason raiding is totally boring to me. I had this situation back on my old main before BC, at which time I took a break from WoW for a few months, but when I did I regretted it because when I tried to come back to do Naxx I couldn't get raid spots, had no dkp, etc. It kind of sucks, being bored sick of a game but not wanting to quit because you don't want to screw over your friends/guild.

I'm in the same boat. Week in and week out same thing - BT Tuesday, Hyjal Weds since October.

The PTR is my only saving grace and I'm finding it very fun to raid with people I don't know, as painful as it can be sometimes.

Sigh...I have said this many times and I will say it again. Fuck the Arena and fuck PvP. I'm tired of PvE getting shit on because of it. I am ok with wanting to balance the arena. I am ok with wanting to balance PvP. I am ok with the fact that Blizz feels that nerfing the coefficient with LB will solve that problem.

I am not ok with the vast majority of the game's balance in terms of class abilities revolving around the arena and the rest revolving around PvP! That shit needs to end. If LB's coefficient was causing a problem in the Arena then go ahead and nerf it but limit that nerf to the Arena only! That is the most fair and just way to please all the players. It is also the best way to bring true balance to the entire game.

I am more than willing to give up the buffs I get from balancing the arena if that means I will no longer be nerfed by it.

IDK why they are changeing lifeblooms coef, it wasent the issue really, your normal HOTs are as well as the ability to run like a lil chicken shit away from everything, however they are taking away the 15% speen increase set bonus

If they wanted to nerf us then they should have nerfed Cyclone or Roots somehow. The HoTs really are not an issue

IMO 1 HOT outhealing the damage done buy 4 DOTs is an issue
