It was explained by Loki with one line basically...saying Odin had to use a lot of "dark energy" to send Thor to Earth.
Ahh. I missed that. Crowd got noisy at times laughing etc. Still A+ movie. Definatly buying on BD when it comes out for my 100" screen
Is that Gross sales? Because our group of 5 shelled out some $60 for tickets. I'll also bet that Dark Knight does as good or better. Maybe even Spiderman... the latest trailer actually had me wanting to watch it.
I doubt The Dark Knight Rises will do as well. At least from what I can recall, the newer Batman movies haven't really been marketed to children, which while not a bad thing, it means they may not go and see it. It would be interesting to see a demographic breakdown for the ticket sales for The Avengers.
Don't get me wrong... I think the third Batman movie will do very well, but I don't see it breaking 200 million. Maybe I'll have to look up the opening figures from the previous two movies. Typically the last movie in a series does do better than the previous ones (as long as the priors were rated well).

It will easily break 200 million domestically, probably by the second weekend. TDK is one of the highest-grossing movies of all-time, and lots of folks are anxious to see Nolan's finale to his series.
i'm sure he meant $200 M on opening weekend, not overall
just comparing the rate at which the rake in $

It got great reviews from almost all my friends but I didn't realize it was this big of an event. I was under the impression that aside from Ironman all the other superhero movies that went 'into' Avengers were pretty mediocre.
not even close
LMAO I like how you tell someone else's opinion is wrong with your own opinion.
Yea, I'm curious as to what he thinks is the best one, and since The Avengers is "not even close", what other super-hero movies are better.

I for one agree with the other poster. It has been the best super hero movie to date IMO (In my opinon) in case you were wondering what that stood for
Did other people not have any trailers before the movie? When I went the movie just started on time.
