"Clinch up." LOL Had to explain that one to the 11 year old but he got most of the rest.
What did Hulk say after he smacked Loki around?
Good, imo.
"Puny God"

given the hype behind it, yeah... I was expecting something significantly above and beyond yet another generic big-budget action flick.
I enjoyed it, but it didn't come anywhere close to meeting the expectations set by hearing about people loving it, going to see it multiple times, etc.
I wish they would make a Hulk movie with this Hulk, as compared to the Hulks in the 1st two movies.
Tony Stark made me laugh, but I was pleasantly surprised that the Hulk made me laugh any more. Especially those latter scenes, one with him and Loki (You can't bully me), and the one with him and Thor.
Every showing was sold out, thankfully I bought tickets ahead of time
First I have to hear these damn commercials about buying movie tickets online at the movies and now they are advertising on forums??!!
if it makes you feel better, I bought my tickets online because I was worried that the theater would be a madhouse for a Friday night show.
in the end, me and my friends were practically the only ones in the theater.
They have two lists,
adjusted for inflation
and
unadjusted for inflation
Gone With the Wind tops that adjusted for inflation and will never be surpassed. It made ~$200million in 1939. $200million in 1939 equals $3.3billion in todays money(adding in theatrical rereleases over the years it would top $5billion).
The reason they keep to lists is you really can't fairly compare. Yes there has been ticket inflation, new technology, bigger markets, more people. But competition is also much much greater these days. Not just from movies, but other from other forms of entertainment as well.
Just give me the scenes with Scarlett in it. Don't care much for superheroes.
I wonder if part of the reasoning that people are so fired up is that it's also the first big movie of the summer. I would imagine that people may be a bit more tired of comic book movies or action movies in general by the time Spider-Man comes out in July.
Although, I also wonder if it would help if the other comic book movies are good? For example, last year's comic book movies were fairly average, and they performed alright. This year, we have The Avengers, the last Batman, and the Spider-Man reboot. There's also Men in Black III (opens next week). It's not a comic book movie (I don't think?), but it's a big budget action film.
Well, what do you think was different about this Hulk and do you think it would have helped either of the two prior movies? I honestly don't think it would have.
My wife and I found the movie very enjoyable. Definately worth the price of the ticket to me
Agreed. I loved the one with him and Thor

wiki said:The film was based on the Men in Black comic book series by Lowell Cunningham, originally published by Marvel Comics.
3.3b is high. What list?
Here's a good list of inflation adjusted grosses ($1.6b for Gone w/ The Wind, which sounds more resaonable):

shawshank redemption is a 6/10 on my scale, if that puts things into perspective for you.

You need to just stop watching movies if Shawshank is a 6/10.

I saw it last weekend.
It was a good movie, but I think the helicarrier may be the worst form of transportation ever devised.
Even if it could work in the first place. (Each of those engines would have had to generate about 30,000 tons of lift...)
