Just wanted to show off what I've been working on in a team this year at school. It's a guitar stand that is focused on Guitar Hero, but fits most electric guitars as well.

We had to design/manufacture fifty of these within strict specifications.

They're routed from acrylic and airbrushed.

Check out our site and tell me what you think!

http://www.theaxerack.com (warning: mild cleavage)

(there is a purchase section on the page, but this is just a thread for feedback on the stand, we're not making a profit with this project, having spent loads of money and a ridiculous amount of time.)

Some custom designs:

The pictures on the site are our prototype, here is a more finished product:

how about more of her she could really help promote your product

She didn't want her face showing, but if you're in the area, we'll have plenty of skimpy trade show girls at our booth

Pretty cool.

I dunno about what your specs have to be, but I think it would be a little more practical if it took up less floor/shelf/etc space by not making it as wide. Would also be cool to see patterns cut into a second layer acrylic instead of painted on.

You could also put a series of pegs on there to wrap the cords around, or put base in the center where a console fits perfectly.

We're getting close to ending production... but in the works are a machined hole for a rock band mic and a peg for cords.

It's actually not very wide, only 10 inches wide by 23 inches tall.

Added some pics of a few of the custom designs we'll be using, as well as a pic of our more final product.

We actually just routed the faceplates out of acrylic sheets using a cool jig we cut out on the plasma cutter....

Jig

We welded metal handles onto the jig after this pic was taken.

Can it be folded up or something to be stored when not in use? It takes up a lot of space currently so if you wanted to put it away somewhere you'd need a large arae to store it in. Maybe put hinges on the middle sections or something so it could be folded /collapsed when not in use...

Just a though.

we thought about hinges but it was just a pain to implement. It's actually quite small when you see the actual stand. Also, we've designed our packaging now and it's a coffin shapped boxed, pretty sweet, I'll have pictures up soon.
