Just a bit more flogging of this dead horse and it will surely get up and start galloping.

A Horse with four broken legs isn't doing anything other than going to the glue factory. But let's keep beating it - or let those in such anger offer something SOMETHING other than the same GOP talking points and innuendo...

There are legitimate concerns about Benghazi, especially if Hillary runs.

I imagine Republicans dropped the arms smuggling story when they wanted to jump in on the Syrian war and... arm the terrorists themselves.

That's quite topical actually, when speaking of arms smuggling Presidents.

Well, at least Reagan had the stones to go on national TV ultimately and admit wrong for both his sins and those of his administration. IIRC he said something to the effect of the buck stops with him in the end.

Say what you will about Reagan, but today's politicians would never do something like that.

President Barack Obama assumed responsibility Tuesday for the deadly terror attack in Libya last month that killed four Americans just hours after Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton sought to shoulder the blame for any mistakes the administration made.

"She works for me," the president said in New York in his second presidential debate with Republican challenger Mitt Romney. "I'm the president and I'm always responsible, and that's why nobody's more interested in finding out exactly what happened than I do."

lol 10,000 people killed in auto accidents and you insist on going on and on and on about the one I backed over.

Outrage about the killings are as always directed at those who killed them. Outrage directed at Team Obama is twofold, that they poorly planned both security and response (which may be totally unfounded) and that they lied and spun to make themselves look better (which is unarguably true.) I'm unconvinced about the validity of the former and unexcited about the latter, but let's at least be honest about it.

This.

I struggle to see how this is hard to get. But there were a lot of sleight of hand maneuvers by the administration to confuse the issue, not the least of which was their adamant insistence that they had limited influence over talking points (clearly a lie). Yea, the administration clearly chose to craft and push a cover about what occurred and led to the deaths at Benghazi instead of telling the truth, but lets keep bastardizing common sense as long as our team is punished by the application of simple common sense.

The left is going bonkers trying to defend the indefensible here. Can't say I understand it, but the same nonsense follows each team whenever they are in similar positions. In the end the nonsense is bad for everybody, I'm quite content to say that in our current political environment that this kind of nonsense is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on party affiliation. But here with the current administration and benghazi, what harm is calling a spade a spade?, the real harm is in buying into the nonsense.

One of the pleasant things to take notice from this and similar issues is that the opposition to those in power should be taken seriously if for the sole reason that their skepticism has in the past been warranted. If we look back, we can see where Dems had valid points that were bastardized when Repubs held power and vica versa. The agendas on both sides are so corrupt and full of deceit that the silver lining is that at least it gets exposed somewhat by opposition of any kind.

I pretty much agree with werepossum and Attic on this. And I'll add that I'm not outraged...just disappointed...especially in light of the promises of more transparency. I'm surprised that several liberals here are actually defending this kind of BS.

It's a much easier path to stay in the delusion of trust in a side than to break ranks and deal with several unpleasant truths.

The political divide is now so sharp that a lot of folks look over the cliff and see nothing but a steep drop rather than alternative modes of transport to new areas of a political view, so people back away from the edge into where things are comfortable and known. A major problem is that the slope of the cliff has an effect on how much BS the team members will put up with from their team leaders.

FWIW I don't think calling out the Admin for the cover up they engaged in Benghazi does any favors to the GOP, though it appears the perceived threat of the GOP having been amongst a group of folks whom were right on this is the biggest hurdle to some folks accepting what has clearly been laid out.

Kerry has been subpoenaed to appear before the House Oversight Committee to answer accusations that the State Department has been "illegally withholding subpoenaed material" from Congress, action that could "constitute a criminal offense."

It took a FOIA lawsuit by Judicial Watch to get the latest releases.

I guess the good news is that although the feds think nothing of ignoring Congress, they are still complying with FOIA lawsuits. Our government has not gone full rogue - yet. /s

Issa got nothing better to do than undermine our State Department at the time of international crisis?

The first one lies, and then the second swears to it. Repeat it often enough & the believers will fall right in line, as usual.

Thank You. You have summed up the Obama administration talking points on this issue spot on.

Politicians are what people make them. If we hate them so much, why do we hire them...because we don't hate them.

On Benghazi, oh WMDs oh this oh that. We like our side to win and the other side to lose.

Dont think that electing the "Right" person matters, because the voters want the same things. We want them to make us feel better and do things for us. Blah Blah Blah.

I wish politics were less like sports teams.

LOL, they really couldn't find someone other than that bitter redneck?

They really seem to be intent on reinforcing every stereotype about the GOP.
Redneck... Keep putting your bigotry on display. Good thing they didn't pick a black member of Congress from the South. I bet a bigot like you would really have something to say about him. Eh, Donald?

Midterms 6 months out, bout time for the Republicans to rev up the scandal machine. Everybody realizes it is a purely political move. The real question is "will it put more Republicans into office"? It backfired horribly against Clinton and cost the Republicans much. At this point, I suspect that Americans care so little about Benghazi that it won't make much difference one way or the other. Oh im sure it will help Republican candidates in nutsy conservative districts (but those are already foregone conclusions). However in moderate districts at best it won't help Republican candidates and at worst will harm them.

It's going to be super hilarious if the Ukraine situation escalates and Republicans are still wasting State Department's time over 20 month old talking points.
