I already posted something about the attack on the Yemeni embassy and how vastly different of a situation it was. Go look it up, stop using the copy/paste responses.

I strongly dislike Obama, but I don't think he's overly corrupt. I think he's given positions to a few too many campaign contributors...but my issue with him is that he is inept. No better than Bush.

Am I looking for a conspiracy here? No. I'm looking for someone to say "Yeah, we fucked up." Because SOMEONE did. Probably more than one person. What I'm sick of is people trying to downplay the whole thing as "It's just crazy conservatives" - take that talk over to the Nevada thread...

Ah, then you want the report that was released in December 2012. You would probably also be interested in all the recommendations the report made and their current progress.

Or do you think we should continue with more "witchhunting", after all, that did work for republicans during the clinton admin.

It's what they live for.

Comittee will be a partisan joke. There will be no participation by democratic congrssman.

Check your email for the latest talking points. Madame Pelosi wants representation split equally on the committee. I say fuck her - with your dick.

Of course there will be participation by Democrat Congresscritters. Can't depend on Republicans to do ALL the lying and obfuscation.

I expect the amount of lying out of the committee to be the same as out of the rest of D.C. with about 85-90% coming from Republicans. Sure, the Dems in Washington lie more than your standard non-politician, but in comparison to the GOP the Dems are amateurs in the lying game.

Plus, if it's bipartisan, the Dem's can drag their feet on things forever and when they get called out on the carpet for it, they can blame the Republicans!

Or, maybe we can have another Cummings/Issa style meltdown! Everything our politician's needed to know they learned in kindergarten and they practice it daily.

You mean where Hillary was of the attitude of "this doesn't matter"? Someone at a high level failed, and potentially more than once.

When more security was requested (I do not believe that Stevens turned it down, there's no evidence I've seen to back that up) and he never got it

When someone opted to not send in forces over the 4 hour engagement to help US state employees under fire

And lastly, yes, possibly someone lied to cover their ass...though that doesn't make this some massive conspiracy.

I want someone to acknowledge the failures - because I think that they have to rise to either Obama or Hillary. Is there a witch hunt needed? No. But there is some amount of care needed. Allowing state employees to die due to inaction DOES bother me.

Having another committee "investigate" is already dragging it out past the limits of credibility.

You're on the wrong side of this one. Tough shit I guess. You can continue to stomp your feet, pout and hold your breath until you turn blue and the outcome will still be the same. The committee positions will be filled and the proceedings will begin. With no less than Trey Gowdy at the helm. A perfect choice. A big thumbsup for Boehner on that one.

This is like the warm/cold game. The more the Dem's howl the more the Repub's know they're getting closer. Continue to spout off as you have been if it makes you feel better. The rest of us saw through all that bluster a long time ago. Most important of all, learn to be a good loser. It's a trait that will serve you well over time. A pendulum is designed to swing. When it stops, it's all over.

Frankly, I demand that we finally get to the bottom of Teapot Dome! I want a standing committee to keep investigating it as long as it takes to get answers on this very current and relevant scandal!

Sure, if you aren't capable of looking at the facts yourself or if you prefer things out of context and are only capable of regurgitating talking points. But for normal people that actually give a fuck, the information was covered more than a year ago.

Yes, there are never forces beyond our control. We can anticipate all events & account for them, right? Masters of the Universe!

Utterly lame. There were 2 separate engagements a couple of hours apart, and the flight time alone was prohibitive. The second engagement was a few mortar shells lobbed at the place of retreat. It's not like we have teams locked, loaded, fully equipped, ready to embark & get briefed on the way, is it?

Well, yeh, but since it wasn't what he wanted to hear, it never made enough of an impression on his conspiracy theory addled brain to be remembered.

Sure, ignore my post about how we opted to not "violate" Libyan airspace, allowed the embassy to remain unsecured for weeks and so forth.

All you are doing is displaying your ignorance on how foreign affairs work and how embassy security is handled.

Republicans sure like to keep brain dead things alive. Benghazi is the Terri Schiavo of political issues.

Please, have mercy and let it die already!

It was a colossal fuckup involving deaths that appears to have had at least a minor cover up. Someone should be held accountable. I just hope they use the investigation to make sure they get the correct party/parties instead of just blindly targeting select people and hoping something sticks. Then again, maybe they find out it was just a series of unrelated mistakes resulting in the tragedy.

Will be interesting to see what comes out of this one
