Boy some of you are sure getting ahead of yourselves here. Everything said in this thread about channeling arms to Syria is based on one sentence in the linked CNN article, which says it is "speculation." And the speculation, in turn, is based on what some anonymous source at the CIA apparently told the press. Namely, that there was an unusual number of CIA personnel in Benghazi at the time of the attack, and that the CIA doesn't want people to know this, meaning that there is the appearance of a covert op of some kind. From there, we get "speculation" about running arms to Syria. And people are acting like it's a fact. Even the libs who are defending it are acting like it's a fact.

Am I missing something here? Is there evidence that makes this more than "speculation?"

Edit: I did just now read Fern's linked Fox article about this topic. If you read it closely, it's pretty threadbare but I can see that there is some additional information besides what is in the OP articles.

From what I remember the State Department has already tried to lay this at the feet of the CIA via leak and innuendo. Which is very convenient since CIA simply does not operate as security for State Department officials on foreign soil. And of course CIA cannot comment.

Also, why was the Ambassador travelling from State's virtual fortress in Tripoli to Benghazi in a regular SUV with virtually no protection, ON 9/11 no less? What was so important to break security protocols for such a high value target on a symbolic day?

You're partially right- these phony scandals are being orchestrated for the purpose you describe. They are, however, phony, other than in the minds of the gullible, people who can believe that "Leftists" intentionally facilitate the Rich getting richer. You qualify.

Also, what world are you people living in that you think the NYT and Wall Street Freaking Journal would rather 'protect Obama' as part of the 'mainstream liberal communist media elite conspiracy' rather than sell lots and lots of papers, get Pulitzers, and have individual reporters get famous and sell loads of books like Bob Woodward? If Fox News is the only one reporting on it, it's probably because it's a BS propaganda story. If CNN reposts 'some places are reporting' stories, that's the faintest of endorsements, as CNN is well known to be awful.

But can I just point out the irony of IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE for smuggling in weapons to Syria from the same people who worship at the altar of St. Reagan? The people who want to name the entire offshore exclusive economic zone (basically US waters) for Reagan? According to reports they had like 20 CIA agents on the ground in Ben Ghazi, so the CIA is keeping them from talking to the press. The rumors are they have to take a polygraph every month to insure they are not talking to the press.

As long as the Press are giving Hillary and O'Bamma (President) a free ride and not asking any difficult questions you cant expect any answers. The Liberal media does not care what crimes are being committed by Democrats with a few exceptions. They would rather talk about the the nutjobs running for Mayor of New York.
