I think the 3 day trial + cost of shipping is just to deter people from returning this stuff. I mean, if it's only costing you $250 - why spend $100 of it just to return it? I think you could probably just sell them for like $200 just as easily.

I doubt they'd stay in business very long or keep prices low if they ate shipping costs on returns as a matter of policy. I agree that speaker choice is very subjective though. The best thing is to find someone who has a set of these nearby and beg for an audition.
So no-one has any opinions on how the two 5-spkr sets compare?

Wasn't really expecting a report of side-by-side comparison. I was hoping some of the folks who own either set would post their experience and why they chose one over the other...
that was a joke right? plz tell me that was a joke.Originally posted by: ValsalvaYourHeartOut
Don't waste your time on these, guys. What you want is BOSE. Best highs, best lows, must be BOSE!! They spend a lot of money on advertising because they want consumers to know how great their products are. That's also why you can find Bose in high-end stores like Best Buy, Circuit City, and The Good Guys!! These stores don't carry low-end crap like B&W, NHT, PSB, etc. Those speakers are WAY overpriced. Bose is so popular because everybody knows how good they sound. I would highly disrecommend buying these Fluance speakers because you simply can't listen to them first. You don't know how they sound, and you rely on a bunch of monkeys to write reviews on them. Now with the 20% MSN promotion, you can get Bose even cheaper...you simply can't beat Bose for the dollar. Personally, I sold my crappy B&W 802NT's to get a Bose home theater set...they look very nice next to my Krell and McIntosh amps, and all of my guests know that I'm an audiophile when they see my Bose speakers.

anyone know if I can hook these up to my computer
As long as an amp (i.e., a receiver) sits between your computer and the speakers, sure.

Someone mentioned tying in the VX10 ($168) sub from 6ave.com. I have the sub and it fills a roughly 20'30' with resonably loud tight bass, especially after I filled it with polyfill. Might also want to check out the Sony wm40 sub on other forums, a 12 incher suppossedly sounds great for low $ after the mod.
As far as speakers in the price range go with Axiom, unless you can snag an increasingly rare pair of Michauras for less which sound (and look) even better.
