Craig RT has it right. I just got a nifty SATA external enclosure and slapped in a SATA 7200 RPM extra drive I had. Any size will fit. But - the SATA connection makes for a faster link than either USB2 or Firewire.
The SATA enclosure comes with a 30-inch SATA cable, and it's own power brick. Makes life easy.
i have a maxtor 160gb(i know iknow ) it works great.. very durable too my frined stepped on it and nothinghappened to it. its very fast too with friewire and usb2.0
I've tried practically ever enclosure on the market, and these are the best by far. USB2+IEEE1394 and USB2 respectively. AMS DS-2316CBK AMS DS-2316B2BK
I use the "Metal gear Box" clones.... Speeze used to OEM them, now you can find them under the name PPA among others....
THey weren't the cheapest, but they work well, and keep the drives cool enough without using fans.... I now have three of them, getting ready to order a fourth.
You'll pay $5 to $10 premium for both USB2 and Firewire.
