The best Hard Drive

I need a 7200RPM for my Dell Inspiron 700m that will be a mayor boost performance/price. 40GB seems perfect since i dont use even 5GB now. A guy sayd the 7.2K drive boosted his gaming at the 700m, is that true? But dont get me wrong this PC feels way faster than my Inspiron 1150.

Help me get the best brand/price HD.

hard drives dont boost game performance. it just speeds up loading times.

A faster HDD won't really boost perfromance in gaming. It will only result in slightl faster map loading times. What exactly do you currently have though?

A 700m owner wrote that his FPS increased dramatically, it was his experience, i cant argue his point because I have this junkie turntable HD. If the boys here help me get a good one ill buy it and post the results. I know this Laptop is not for gaming but it runs games pretty well (playable). Maybe the video card sucks but the processor is quite good for gaming.

pentiumobile: actually, a faster hard drive can be pretty useful when gaming. At least, if you have a system which your game is straining... This is especially true if you're running an antivirus or something. On this Dell Dimension I'm currently stuck with, every time the antivirus starts doing anything, and the hard drive starts activating, the game starts skipping. So it's not that much of an issue with high end systems, as with low end systems - it won't speed up the game but it will probably keep other stuff from interrupting your gaming, like for instance WinXP's indexing service.

That is one of the reasons I do not run a anti-virus in the backgroundl. I do run manual scans all the time though. I also just use the SP2 firewall for best performance.
