The Best Metallica Song?

I can't vote I can't choose between Fade to Black, One, Orion, Cal of Ktulu, Master of Puppets, Battery, Sanitarium, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Dyer's Eve, etc. And as for albums, I'm stuck between Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets. Both are magnificent, perfect albums. It really depends on my mood which one I like better, but right now I can't decide. I can't vote in the last poll either because Metallica has been my favorite band for 10 years but I think Opeth might truly be the greatest metal band ever.

Welcome Home (Sanitarium) is my favorite....just barely edging out Master of Puppets. (Edit: I guess I should say those are my "in-general" favorites...it really depends on the mood I'm in)

Master is by far their best album

For the picking of a group...Metallica followed closey by Megadeth

Seek and Destroy is by far the best Metallica song live.

I've seen them in concert 3 times, and this is THE song live.

Listen to everything except the X Factor album.

My personal favorite song has always been Infinite Dreams from the Seventh Son album.
It's a slightly slower song.

You really can't go wrong with any of their stuff except as noted above. Live After Death is one of the greatest live albums ever IMO

Hard to pick just one 'best' song of any band.

That being said I think it would be on Ride the Lightning or ...And Justice for All... those two albums just absolutely own. Master of Puppets is good but there's just something about the other two that make me like them more.

The Call of Ktulu gets my vote. Not only the best Metallica song by a landslide, but also the greatest song ever. Ride the Lightning gets my vote as their best album. Judas Priest and Iron Maiden tie as the two best bands.

EDIT: Hahahaha, I can't believe The Unforgiven got three entire votes. It doesn't have a single ounce of metal in the entire damned song.

For songs I'd say Prodigal Son, Invaders, Where Eagles Dare, Losfer Words, Powerslave, Alexander the Great, Infinite Dreams, and Mother Russia. However, I'd get album based on overall album merit. Get Iron Maiden, Killers, Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, Powerslave, and No Prayer for the Dying. The other albums are all plagued with various problems, even if they do have some good songs.
