Anyone else playing it? I played the original quite a bit (just a little short of getting all the achievements), and I've been playing rebirth a ton since it came out. It's like a remake into a more functional engine + a massive expansion of the items/levels/characters/etc.

I had a really epic run that I was recording and I kind of want to show off if there's anyone else that's into it

Skips to the Satan fight.

I put 105 hours into the first and rebirth is way better. Already put 43 hours in and it came out 4 days ago.

If you haven't played binding of isaac you should really check it out.

I have already put something like 80 hours into it (that number seems high, I must have left it sitting, I'm betting I have at least 30 hours in though.). It is a great improvement on the old game, the controller support alone makes it worth the $15 dollars, add on top of it the limited co-op support, and I can't remember the last time I got so much entertainment for my dollar.

I haven't hooked up a controller to it yet, but I assume that controller support means that you still are limited to the 4 directions for shots, correct?

Yes, you still can only move and fire in the four directions. I feels like keyboard mapping more then a real controller support, but it works well for the game and make it a more comfortable game to play IMHO. It has become a living room favorite on my HTPC.

Good idea. I assume my I5-3570's integrated video can run it at 1080p just fine. Usually I play on my laptop.

Also, movement is 8 directions. Shots are just the 4.

My G620 runs it in 1080p just fine.
It could probably run on an overclocked abacus.

after playing probably 80hs to the original BOI, i played about 5hs to this one (only beat the 1st mom boss)

what is it so good about it? i can only see that the game now has some basic lightning effects, new bosses and rooms that are more than 1 square big...

The number of new items is quite large. There's new endings/levels/monsters/characters. They fixed a lot of the problems that couldn't be fixed in flash and it runs/plays much smoother; they reworked the item system so it's a lot cooler with synergies. I personally think the new art style jives with the game better although there's a filter to get it to look closer to the original.

I played the original 279 hours and Rebirth 78 but it's not a competition or anything >.> <.<

Analog stick allows for precision movement where as d-pad and keyboard is off/on so not really

You can shoot diagonally by quick strafe and shoot i.e. move left and shoot up, tear goes up and left

I don't get this game. Can someone please explain it to me? Just played it for the first time and beat the mom. Roll credits. Am I supposed to keep playing it? Are the levels randomly generated like spelunky? I'm just trying to figure this thing out.

You fought mom on your first run?

Everything is randomly generated. I guess the last boss will be mom's heart from now on.

Oh, and if you keep playing you'll unlock the cathedral, etc,

beating mom is the introduction welcome to binding of isaac :O

You now can face mom's heart in the womb and after you beat mom's heart 9x you open up the late game. Try and beat mom's heart with each of the characters so you unlock more items. If you beat mom in <20 minutes you get another special thing with more unlocks.

Beating the game is basically getting platinum god achievement

I think I picked this up in a bundle for PC, played it, didn't really dig it. Got it on PS+ and tried it again on PS4, and it still just isn't something that grabs me.
